FACILITIES MANAGER

Location: Austin, TX (hybrid)

Clearance Requirement: U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a security clearance

ABOUT NODA

NODA is a veteran-owned, venture-backed technology company that is transforming how unmanned systems collaborate in complex, mission-critical environments. We are developing next-generation solutions that enable the autonomous orchestration of heterogeneous unmanned systems across air, sea, land, and space with vital applications in the defense, intelligence, and commercial sectors.

Our Operations team plays a critical role in ensuring NODA runs smoothly as we scale. The Facilities Manager owns the buildings, labs, and secure spaces where we build and test, along with the maintenance, safety, and security that keep them running.

Joining NODA means working on meaningful technology that pushes the boundaries of autonomy alongside a team that thrives on innovation, rapid iteration, and collaboration.

THE ROLE

As our Facilities Manager, you'll own the physical infrastructure behind NODA AI's Austin operations, including our office, hardware and integration labs, equipment storage, and secure areas. You'll be responsible for building management, maintenance, safety, physical security, and space planning as the company scales from prototype to production and field delivery.

This is a hands-on ownership role for someone who brings rigor to safety and compliance but can move at startup speed. You'll partner closely with the VP of Operations, the Office Manager, IT, Security, and Engineering to keep our spaces safe, compliant, and ready for the work ahead.

As NODA grows, this role will scale with the business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Own the operation and maintenance of NODA AI's Austin facilities, including office, lab, and storage spaces, ensuring they are safe, secure, and fully functional

• Serve as the primary point of contact for building management and landlords, coordinating maintenance requests, building updates, access control, security systems, HVAC, and other building matters

• Develop and run a preventive maintenance program for HVAC, electrical, power, and lab infrastructure

• Manage office access, badge systems, and physical security protocols in coordination with IT and the Facility Security Officer, in line with NISPOM and DoD requirements

• Support the build-out and upkeep of secure spaces as NODA's classified work grows

• Maintain a safe workplace in line with OSHA, fire code, and local regulatory requirements

• Establish safe storage and handling procedures for lithium batteries, hazardous materials, and test equipment

• Own emergency protocols, inspection records, permits, and facility certifications

• Support Engineering with lab setup, equipment installation, power and network needs, and workspace reconfiguration

• Coordinate equipment shipping, receiving, and storage for test events and field demonstrations

• Identify and manage facilities improvement projects including space planning, reconfiguration, equipment upgrades, and expansions as the team grows

• Manage contractors, architects, and vendors on build-outs, relocations, and new site options, from scope through completion

• Manage facilities vendor relationships including maintenance, security, and building service providers, owning contracts, invoicing, and performance oversight

• Manage facilities budgets, track expenses, and provide regular reporting on facilities spend to leadership

• Partner with the Office Manager so that day-to-day office needs and facilities work are handled seamlessly

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 5+ years of experience in facilities management, ideally in a lab, manufacturing, engineering, R&D, defense, or high-growth environment

• Working knowledge of OSHA, fire, and building code requirements

• Demonstrated experience managing building coordination, facilities contracts, and contractors

• Track record of delivering build-outs, relocations, or office expansions on time and on budget

• Experience managing facilities budgets, processing invoices, and tracking facilities-related expenses

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, vendors, and priorities without losing track of details

• Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to build strong relationships across the organization, with contractors, and with building management

• Proactive and solutions-oriented, identifying what needs to happen before being asked and resolving issues independently

• Due to the nature of the position, U.S. citizenship is required due to ITAR regulations, along with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience in a defense technology, aerospace, government contracting, or similarly regulated environment

• Familiarity with physical security systems, access control, and visitor management in a secure or controlled environment, including NISPOM requirements or SCIF construction and accreditation

• Experience with lithium battery storage, hazardous materials handling, or lab safety programs

• Facilities certifications such as FMP, CFM, or SFP

• Familiarity with facilities management software or CMMS platforms

• Existing security clearance

• Resourceful problem-solver, finding practical solutions quickly when building and facilities issues arise

• Trusted partner to the Office Manager, IT, Security, and Engineering, coordinating effectively across functions without creating friction

• Strong vendor and contractor manager, building relationships based on accountability, clear expectations, and consistent follow-through

• Builder's mindset, putting right-sized processes in place today with a clear path to scale

• Mission driven, with a genuine interest in and respect for NODA AI's defense mission and the people who serve it
