School Education Manager

Purpose of the Role

Drive exceptionally high educational standards in line with N Family’s Wildly Important Goals (WIGs).

The School Education Manager is responsible for leading educational quality, safeguarding, and educator development at N Family School. Working in close partnership with the School Manager, this role ensures the delivery of outstanding care and education aligned with the N Curriculum, Pedagogy, and N Family values.

The School Education Manager plays a key leadership role in maintaining high standards across classrooms, supporting educators to thrive, and ensuring children experience a safe, joyful, and enriching early learning environment. In the absence of the School Manager, this role provides day-to-day leadership across education, safeguarding, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks

Educational Quality & Practice- Lead day-to-day educational quality across the school, ensuring consistent high standards of care and learning

- Model outstanding early childhood practice and support a culture of excellence across classrooms

- Partner with the School Manager to deliver education aligned with the N Curriculum and Pedagogy

- Oversee educational planning and logistics, including classroom schedules, educator-to-child ratios, and the pattern of the day

- Maintain the school’s self-evaluation, ensuring action plans, audits, and advisor feedback are followed through effectively

Safeguarding, Health & Safety- Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead in the absence of the School Manager

- Lead safeguarding and mandated reporting processes in line with state licensing and N Family standards

- Conduct daily risk assessments and oversee health and safety practices throughout the school

- Maintain and regularly review safeguarding and safety documentation to ensure clarity and compliance

- Promote a culture of behavioral safety through consistent policies, practices, and open communication

Educator Leadership & Development- Provide coaching, mentoring, and professional development to educators through observation and feedback

- Support educator performance conversations and development planning in partnership with the School Manager

- Identify talent, support growth pathways, and contribute to succession planning

- Support onboarding and induction of new and substitute educators, ensuring readiness before classroom entry

- Step into classrooms as needed to support coverage and maintain quality and ratio requirements

Family Engagement & School Community- Build strong, authentic relationships with families through daily interactions, tours, and meetings

- Support family communication and engagement around learning, development, and school practices

- Partner with the School Manager to address family questions or concerns related to education and care

School Operations Support- Support recruitment, engagement, and retention initiatives alongside the School Manager

- Assist with tuition processing, funding coordination, and resolution of family inquiries as needed

- Ensure high standards of cleanliness, presentation, and organization throughout the school day

- Work a flexible schedule aligned with school operating hours, including occasional events or meetings

Professional Expectations- Work a flexible schedule aligned with school operating hours, typically between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., with availability for occasional events or meetings

- Always follow Health & Safety policies, safeguarding procedures, and licensing requirements

- Use digital systems confidently to support planning, documentation, and communication

- Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support the school and wider organization

Experience- Experience in a school leadership role, such as Team Lead, Assistant Director, or Education Manager

- Demonstrated success in instructional coaching, educator development, and team leadership

- Strong understanding of early childhood education quality standards and best practices

- Experience supporting family engagement and school-wide planning

- Familiarity with educator deployment, performance tracking, and compliance audits

Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree required in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Education, or a related field

- Must meet all applicable state licensing requirements for a leadership role in a licensed early childhood program

- Pediatric First Aid and Pediatric CPR certification, maintained per state requirements

- Completion of child protection and mandated reporter training

- Successful completion of required background checks and clearances

- Must meet all state health screening and immunization requirements, including tuberculosis screening, as required by licensing authorities

Supervisory Responsibilities

Provides direct leadership, coaching, and oversight to classroom educators and supports onboarding, performance management, and professional development. Steps into school-wide leadership responsibilities in the absence of the School Manager.

This role operates in a licensed early childhood setting and requires regular standing, walking, classroom engagement, and the ability to respond quickly and appropriately in emergencies.
