TRAVELING PROJECT MANAGER

As a Traveling Project Manager at Mid-City Electric, you will take ownership of large commercial projects, including data centers, hospitals, and medical facilities. You will lead project teams, manage budgets and schedules, and deliver results that meet or exceed client expectations. This role is based in Westerville, Ohio, and requires approximately 75% travel to project sites. A remote work arrangement may be considered when the employee is located within reasonable proximity to an active project site and can maintain regular field engagement and project oversight.

What You Will Be Doing:

- Lead and manage one or multiple commercial electrical construction projects from inception to completion.

- Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets to ensure alignment with client requirements and company goals.

- Coordinate with general contractors, vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.

- Conduct regular project status meetings, provide progress updates, and resolve issues that arise.

- Monitor project costs, implement cost-control measures, identify financial risks, and develop appropriate mitigation strategies.

- Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.

- Maintain proactive and effective communication with customers, internal teams, and business partners.

- Prepare project documentation, including progress reports, change orders, and closeout reports.

- Assist with the bidding process and contract negotiations as needed.

- Lead efforts to continually improve project delivery processes.

- Supervise the work of Project Engineers and Project Coordinators when assigned.

- Collaborate with the Director of Safety to ensure field operations personnel have the training and resources necessary to perform their work safely.

Key Experience to Hit the Ground Running:

- Bachelor’s degree in construction management or a related field, or extensive experience in electrical service and construction.

- Demonstrated leadership responsibility.

- Working knowledge of electrical construction, design, finance, and project management.

- Ability to improve employee performance through effective leadership and management practices.

- Thorough understanding of applicable industry standards, best practices, and their impact on project activities.

- Proficiency with project management and estimating software and Microsoft Office.

- Ability to travel approximately 75% of the time.

- Compensation for the Traveling Project Manager role ranges from $98,000 to $135,000 annually depending on experience

- Additional travel considerations for compensation may be made to align with project assignment requirements and needs
