This position is responsible for:
Under the general supervision of the Corps Officer, the Seasonal Support Worker provides social service assistance to clients seeking Angel Tree assistance. Responsibilities include scheduling appointments, interviewing clients, determining eligibility, and performing accurate data entry. The incumbent may also staff Angel Tree locations, assist with donation processing and warehouse operations, support setup and breakdown activities, and operate Salvation Army vehicles as needed to transport kettle workers, donations, and materials.
Key Responsibilities:
- Successfully interfaces with the public and Salvation Army donors in a variety of settings.
- Answers telephones courteously and provides accurate information to clients.
- Greets and interviews clients to assess eligibility for Angel Tree assistance.
- Assists clients with receiving and transporting Angel Tree items during distribution.
- Enters client intake information into the Angel Tree database, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Receives and checks in clients during distribution week.
- Schedules client appointments in a courteous and professional manner.
- Maintains confidentiality of client information.
- Safely operates Salvation Army vehicles while transporting donations, goods, employees, and volunteers.
- Assists with loading, unloading, and storing donated items.
- Maintains an orderly and organized warehouse environment.
- Assists with canned food, coat, and toy drives, as well as moving operational materials.
- Supports warehouse setup and breakdown activities for seasonal operations.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Work requires the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull light materials, supplies, or equipment weighing less than 25 pounds. Duties involve a combination of standing, walking, and sitting.
- Work is performed in office, warehouse, distribution, and community settings. Duties may require standing, walking, sitting, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling light materials and equipment while supporting seasonal programs and events.
