Senior Product Manager - Tech, Fulfilment by Amazon, Selling Partner Services
Amazon · Bellevue, Washington, United States
Amazon's inventory identity system was built two decades ago for a simpler world — one product, one barcode, one country, one tracking number. That assumption now constrains some of the largest strategic bets Amazon is making: a global inventory pool that lets sellers stock once and sell everywhere, multi-box fulfillment for products like furniture and gym equipment and a cross-border fulfillment network that treats inventory as truly fungible across regions.
We are looking for a Senior PMT to drive the vision for FBA Identity — a foundational transformation of how Amazon identifies, tracks, and fulfills physical products. You will own the product strategy and execution for globalizing inventory identity, decoupling barcodes from tracking numbers, and enabling a single product to be represented as multiple independently fulfillable units. This is not an incremental feature. It is a platform shift that touches 600+ downstream systems, requires sustained alignment across four engineering organizations (FBA, AFT, Catalog, SCOT), and directly unlocks billions in combined addressable opportunity across multiple programs.
You will work directly with Principal Engineers, Senior Principal Engineers, and VP-level leaders across Amazon's supply chain to define the architecture, run experiments in live fulfillment centers, and ship changes that compound across every program built on top of inventory identity. If you want to work on infrastructure that reshapes how Amazon's entire fulfillment network operates — and see your decisions show up in the experience of millions of sellers — this is the role.
Key job responsibilities
Own the product vision and roadmap for modernizing how Amazon identifies and tracks physical products across its global fulfillment network. Translate a multi-year platform transformation into concrete, shippable milestones that deliver incremental business value at each stage — unlocking new product categories, new geographies, and new fulfillment models along the way.
Drive cross-organization alignment across four engineering organizations that each own critical pieces of the architecture. You are the person who ensures they move together, resolves competing priorities, and keeps the program on track through a cross-org governance model with leadership.
Design guardrails, reversible rollout plans, and structured pilots that let us move fast without breaking the network.
Write the business case and technical requirements to quantify trade-offs across seller experience, fulfillment cost, and operational complexity, make recommendations, and present to leadership for investment decisions.
Shape the AI-accelerated execution strategy. This program leverages AI for discovery, deduplication, anomaly detection, and inference across complex product hierarchies. You will identify where AI compresses timelines and where human judgment remains essential.
Represent FBA in cross-VP goal-setting during OP planning. You will author the goal proposals, defend the investment asks, and ensure partner organizations formally commit resources.
A day in the life
You start with a design review alongside Principal Engineers, debating how a proposed change impacts fulfillment center tooling — and pushing back when a solution adds seller complexity.
Mid-morning, you review pilot results from two FC types, draft a remediation plan for newly discovered system dependencies, and escalate one issue to the relevant stakeholders.
After lunch, you present the quarterly roadmap to Directors and VPs, walking through sequencing trade-offs and landing a decision on what ships first.
You close the day writing a one-pager that translates a technical architecture choice into the business case leaders need to fund.
About the team
FBA powers commerce for millions of sellers and hundreds of millions of customers. The Identity team sits at the intersection of catalog, fulfillment, and supply chain — the layer that determines what a product is to Amazon's network, how it moves, and where it can be sold. Amazon's supply chain is evolving from regional networks into a single global system. Multi-box products, cross-border fulfillment, virtual multipacks, and inventory sharing all depend on a modernized identity layer. This team is building it. The decisions made here remove constraints that block billions in opportunity across the organization.
