About the role
Experienced Network and Systems Engineer/ Senior Network Security Engineer sought to support network uplift project for a large NFP client for 6 month contract position with a strong possibility of extension. You will bring strong hands-on engineering experience while taking ownership of architecture patterns, technical standards and design decisions. The successful applicant will work closely with the Principal Architect and client based Network Administrator to execute on a well scoped project.
Key responsibilities
- Design and implement hybrid SD-WAN and ZTNA/SASE solutions across multiple sites.
- Design and implement next-generation firewall deployments and network segmentation across multiple sites.
- Design and deploy Windows Server and Hyper-V infrastructure, including high availability, failover, and site redundancy.
- Design and implement Active Directory and Domain Controller architecture, including AD site topology, replication, DNS, and GPO structure.
- Design and implement Entra ID and hybrid identity, including directory synchronisation, Conditional Access, MFA, and privileged access controls.
- Design and implement application control, endpoint security, and device compliance policies using Microsoft Intune and Group Policy.
- Implement and manage Microsoft Purview, including data classification, sensitivity labels, and DLP policies across SharePoint, Teams, Exchange, and endpoints.
- Manage internal PKI using ADCS, including certificate issuance, renewal, migration, backup, and operational handover.
- Document network designs, topologies and other project related policies as needed.
- Execute vulnerability management end-to-end, including scanning, prioritisation, remediation, validation, and reporting.
- Manage patch management and OS compliance across servers and endpoints.
About you
- Strong hands-on background in network security engineering, network architecture or security consulting, with recent architecture ownership.
- Ability to hit the ground running and achieve impactful project outcomes.
- Deep experience across enterprise firewalls, secure internet access, DNS security and network security services.
- Practical understanding of Zero Trust Architecture and identity-integrated secure access models.
- Experience designing network segmentation, network isolation and secure hybrid connectivity.
- Working with Children and Police checks prior to engagement.
