We are calling all early birds and go-getters, our breakfast chefs start at 5.00am and finish by 1.00pm. You'll have the rest of the day to yourself. We are looking for a Breakfast Commis Chef who can join a team of culinary professionals committed to their craft, dedicated to delivering the finest dishes, celebrating the best of seasonal and locally sourced produce.
A little taste of your day-to-day
Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be:
● Playing a critical role in our breakfast culinary team, by delivering a seamless and exceptional experience for hotel guests.● Assisting in the preparation of a diverse range of meals, for breakfast, lunch and dinner and special menu items, adhering to standardized recipes and portion sizes. ● Ensuring all food items are of the highest quality and cooked to the required specifications, maintaining consistency in taste, presentation, and texture. ● Monitoring and manage inventory levels of food and kitchen supplies, ensuring timely requisition of items as needed. ● Maintaining a clean and organized kitchen workspace, following proper sanitation and food safety guidelines. ● Adhering to all relevant health and safety regulations, including safe food handling, storage, and preparation techniques. ● Coordinating with other departments, such as banquet and catering, to fulfill special orders and dietary requirements● Conducting regular quality control checks to ensure the freshness, taste, and appearance of food items. ● Collaborating with the front-of-house staff to ensure efficient food delivery and guest satisfaction. What we need from you
- Formal qualifications and demonstrated experience working in a similar role in a busy restaurant or hotel.
- Sound working knowledge of various cooking techniques, ingredients, and kitchen equipment.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking methods.
- The ability to work efficiently under pressure and to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with other departments and staff.
- A commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene.
- A passion for food and a desire to continuously learn and develop new skills.
