ABOUT THE TEAM
Omen is Anduril’s hover-to-cruise autonomous air vehicle (AAV) that packs the endurance, payload, and mission flexibility of much larger airplanes into a novel runway-independent Group 3 platform. Omen can operate from ship decks, beaches, or remote island clearings, providing true runway independence and freedom of maneuver across defense and civilian domains. Omen is the first tail-sitter aircraft with a mass-production contract, with an order of 50 systems representing a decisive investment that anchors production and accelerates the development of future systems.
ABOUT THE JOB
Anduril is seeking an Integration & Test Engineer, Electrical Systems to join the Maneuver Dominance team at our Costa Mesa HQ to own integration and test of electrical systems for Omen, an advanced Group 3 VTOL tail-sitting aircraft. This individual will own integration and test activities across electrical systems including avionics, power systems, actuator and motor controls, mission systems, networking, sensors, and harnessing. This is a hands-on, build-and-run role suited to someone who wants to own a test campaign end to end: requirements, tooling, execution, and reporting.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Support bring-up, functional checkout, and troubleshooting of electrical hardware across multiple vehicle systems
- Develop and execute right-sized test plans and procedures for electrical component and subsystem integration
- Coordinate with design engineers across disciplines (electrical, GNC, mission systems, flight software) to burn-down design risks and demonstrate system maturity
- Use standard electrical test instrumentation (multimeter, oscilloscope, logic analyzer, spectrum and network analyzer) to characterize hardware and diagnose failures
- Write and maintain test scripts and tooling (Python or similar) to automate data capture, sequencing, and reporting
- Follow and maintain safety protocols for high voltage and stored energy hazards during integration and test activities
- Maintain configuration control records for test hardware, tooling, and firmware/software versions
- Support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), ground test, and flight test activities for prototype and production representative system
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, or related engineering discipline
- 1+ years of experience in integration and test, electrical hardware bring-up, or embedded systems/firmware work with hands-on hardware validation
- Demonstrated hands-on proficiency with multimeters, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers
- Working software/firmware literacy (C, Python, or similar) sufficient to read embedded code, write test scripts, and reason through firmware behavior during hardware debug
- Comfort working across more than one electrical domain (power electronics, controls, communications)
- Fluency in at least one common communication protocol (CAN, Ethernet, or Serial)
- Willingness and demonstrated aptitude to work safely with high voltage systems (400V+) under supervision
- Basic EMI/EMC fluency (conducted/radiated susceptibility or emissions)
- Wiring harness design, sizing, or fabrication experience
- Extremely organized and detail-oriented, with clear verbal and written communication skills
- A sincere commitment to a positive, inclusive, and collaborative culture
- Defense industry background not required, but genuine interest in the mission is
- Eligible to obtain and maintain a security clearance in United States, United Kingdom, or Australia
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with electrical system integration on aerospace or UAS platforms, particularly involving avionics, actuator controls, and power distribution in space-constrained, weight-sensitive environments.
- Familiarity with EMI/EMC testing and mitigation techniques in integrated vehicle environments, including conducted and radiated emissions troubleshooting on densely packaged systems.
- Experience automating test workflows end to end — from data acquisition and sequencing through automated report generation — using Python or similar scripting languages.
- Exposure to VTOL, tail-sitter, or unconventional aircraft architectures where electrical system behavior varies significantly across flight modes and vehicle orientations
