Our Intelligence Engineering team designs solutions that power Akamai's Real-Time Cybersecurity Threat Protection capabilities. You'll play a key role in building a scalable, world-class big data platform that processes internet-scale volumes of data. In this position, you'll work closely with various teams to develop advanced cloud services and environments for our Data Platform,
As a Data Engineer in Test, you will be responsible for:
- Designing and build scalable data pipelines processing internet-scale volumes of security data
- Developing and maintain batch and real-time ETL/ELT workflows using Spark, Kafka, and Delta Lake
- Owning the full lifecycle of data systems: build, deploy, monitor, and optimize production pipelines
- Writing production-grade, tested code with a focus on data quality, reliability, and performance
- Collaborating with Data Science, SecOps, and Analytics teams to translate requirements into scalable data infrastructure
- Optimizing large-scale Spark jobs and implementing Argo-based data orchestration workflows.
- Participating in on-call rotation to ensure system reliability
Do what you love
To be successful in this role you will:
- 4+ years of hands-on Data Engineering experience building production data pipelines at scale
- Have an Advanced proficiency in Apache Spark for large-scale data processing (batch and/or streaming)
- Have good SQL skills and experience with SQL and/or NoSQL databases
- Demonstrate Production experience with streaming technologies (Kafka, RabbitMQ, or SQS)
- Have experience with Python, Scala, or Java (Python )
- Have experience with data modeling, schema design, and ETL/ELT patterns
- Have Hands-on experience with orchestration tools (Airflow, Argo Workflows, or similar)
- Possess with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
Experience with Spark Streaming or Flink for real-time data processing. Familiarity with ArgoCD for GitOps workflows. Cloud platform experience (AWS, GCP, or Azure). Experience processing security, network, or high-volume event data. Track record of optimizing Spark jobs for performance and cost reduction. Experience building data quality frameworks and monitoring systems
