Senior Software Engineer, Distributed Systems (Core)

ABOUT THE ROLE
Join the core systems team building and improving the distributed infrastructure behind a data activation platform. You will help move large volumes of customer data reliably and quickly, while supporting global deployments and real-time use cases.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Optimize the end-to-end syncing process to improve throughput and reduce sync times.
- Design systems for streaming data and real-time syncs from sources such as webhooks and queues.
- Identify scaling and reliability bottlenecks, then architect solutions for continued growth.
- Build and improve low-latency caching and personalization systems backed by data warehouses.
- Extend multi-region and multi-cloud infrastructure to support global deployments and data residency needs.
- Own projects from design through delivery and work directly with customers on complex scaling challenges.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- At least 7 years of software engineering experience, focused on backend systems and distributed systems.
- Experience building and scaling complex, business-critical backend systems through significant growth.
- Strong systems design fundamentals and understanding of large-scale distributed systems.
- Experience with event collection or data streaming services, message queues, Kafka, SQL databases, Kubernetes, and Docker.
- Ability to work close to the infrastructure layer, with familiarity with technologies such as Spark, Flink, and Kafka.
- Strong communication skills, sound technical judgment, and a willingness to take ownership in a fast-moving environment.
- Strong computer science fundamentals and a background primarily in backend engineering rather than data engineering or DevOps.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Base salary: $180,000 to $320,000 USD annually. Equity is included. Visa sponsorship is available.
