Student Assistant, Open Application

Reel · København, Denmark

About ReelReel is building Europe’s leading renewable energy platform, solving the biggest problem in today’s energy markets: matching renewable supply with demand. We’re creating a new category by combining renewable optimization and electricity supply.

We rethink electricity from first principles to accelerate the shift to a carbon-free energy system. We close the gap between renewable producers and corporate consumers by enabling companies to move beyond ‘green claims’ and achieve verifiable carbon reductions.

We are positioned to capture a multi-billion-euro opportunity by solving the supply-demand mismatch between renewable producers and corporate consumers. By tackling this structural gap with a modern platform, Reel is building the commercial category leader in renewable electricity supply and asset monetization.

Join a mission-driven, cross-functional team of builders, operators and climate experts working to create Europe’s leading platform for renewable energy. Reel is backed by leading international investors, growing exponentially year-on-year and expanding rapidly across Europe.

How this open application worksThis is an open application for student assistant roles across Reel. Rather than hiring for one fixed position, we look for great students and then find the team that suits each person best.

Teams you could joinWe usually have students working across 6 broader teams. The examples show the kind of work you could take on; the exact scope depends on the team's priorities when you join.

- Sales (Denmark): Win new business customers for Reel in Denmark through prospecting and outreach, lead lists and campaigns in HubSpot, and material for customer conversations.

- Germany: Germany is Reel's first and most important international market. Help build the German business from the ground up by testing go-to-market approaches, reaching out to potential customers and partners, researching the market and supporting operations. Fluent German required.

- Trading: The team runs Reel's automated trading and turns the flexibility of wind, solar and batteries into value. Support data analysis, performance tracking and simulations. Programming experience, for example in Python, is a plus.

- Finance: Support the monthly close, reconciliations, reporting and financial models.

- Strategy & Operations: Work on company-wide topics such as goal-setting, investor reporting, hiring and our offsites.

- Marketing & Communications: Help tell Reel's story through blog posts and guides, LinkedIn and ad campaigns, press work and our website.

Whichever team you join, you will not watch from the sidelines. You own real work, work closely with your team lead and see the impact of what you do.

What we look forWe care more about attitude than credentials. That said, the strongest candidates bring several of the following:

- Genuine interest in the energy transition and curiosity about how electricity markets work.

- A proactive, figure-it-out mindset. You don't wait for instructions; if something needs doing, you find a way.

- A structured, analytical way of working. You are comfortable in Excel and PowerPoint and keep several topics moving without letting things fall through the cracks.

- Fluent English. Some teams need more: fluent German for our German team, and Danish helps in customer-facing roles in Denmark.

- Important: You are in your final bachelor year or a master's student with at least one year left.

- Based in Copenhagen, as we work office-first.

From application to offerOur process has four steps.

- Apply. Send your CV and a few lines on why Reel, and tell us which teams interest you most.

- Intro call. A short call with our talent team about your interests, your studies and how many hours you can work.

- Case interview. A short case with the team lead and a colleague from the team that fits you best.

- Culture fit and offer. A conversation with colleagues from outside the team, then an offer on our standard student contract.

Working at ReelAt Reel, we care deeply about our people. We offer a workplace that values initiative, ownership and kindness, with ample room for personal and professional growth. We believe great teams are built by welcoming people with different backgrounds, perspectives and lived experiences.

You will join a tight-knit team on an ambitious journey, where the impact of your role is visible every day. Every colleague, from founders to student assistants, is in this together.

We cherish focus and autonomy just as much as teamwork and time to have fun together: at our monthly socials, bi-annual offsites and daily coffee chats in our bright and spacious office in central Copenhagen, two minutes from the metro.

What we offer- Compensation: A compensation package with an above-average hourly salary.

- Flexibility: Around 15 to 20 hours a week, with the flexibility you need around exam periods.

- Office: A vibrant office-first culture in central Copenhagen, with remote days when agreed with your team lead.

- Lunch: A delicious lunch at the office every day, and your daily caffeine fix from our espresso machine.

- Socials: Monthly social events and bi-annual offsites, where we have fun, unwind and nurture our team spirit.

- Visa: Unfortunately, we are unable to support relocation for student roles.

Interested? We look forward to hearing from you. We review applications on a rolling basis, so apply whenever you are ready, even if no specific student role is posted right now.

Unsure if you should apply?Research shows that men apply to jobs if they meet about 60% of the criteria, but women and people from traditionally underrepresented groups tend to apply only if they check all the boxes.

If you think you have what it takes but don't meet every single point above, please still get in touch. We'd love to chat and see if you could be a great fit!

We encourage all candidates, regardless of age, gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, religious beliefs, etc. to apply.
