About Vercel:

Now we're scaling our products for both agents and people to ship and run software, built in the open and trusted by OpenAI, PayPal, Ramp, Supreme, and millions of developers worldwide.

About the role

As a Solutions Architect on the Field Engineering team, you will be the trusted technical advisor to enterprise customers across pre-sales and post-sales, for teams running AI and web workloads on Vercel. You will qualify technical fit, design future-state architectures, and run evaluations and proofs of concept before the deal, then guide adoption as lead architect after it, bringing in Professional Services, Developer Success, Product, and Engineering when customers need them. This is a hybrid role based in Austin, New York City, or San Francisco, with three days a week in the office.

What you'll do

- Lead technical discovery with Sales, qualify use cases, and design target architectures for AI agents and web applications on Vercel

- Own proofs of concept (POCs) and pilots end to end: set success criteria, guide implementation, and document outcomes for executive buyers

- Build and deliver tailored demos, technical presentations, and workshops for developer and executive audiences

- Act as lead architect post-sale for strategic accounts, guiding onboarding, reference implementations, and migrations, and tuning performance with Core Web Vitals and observability data

- Run customer security, compliance, and architecture reviews, and feed recurring field gaps back to Product and Engineering

What you need

- 5+ years experience in a customer-facing technical role such as solutions architect, sales engineer, or platform architect, working with web or cloud platforms

- Hands-on JavaScript and TypeScript experience, including reviewing production application code built with Next.js, React, or another modern framework

- Designed enterprise architectures covering web performance, caching, networking, and security on AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

- Ran technical evaluations or POCs on enterprise deals with both executive and developer stakeholders

Bonus if you

- Built and shipped an AI-powered application or agent, for example with the AI SDK

- Led a large-scale migration to a cloud-native or composable architecture (headless CMS, commerce, identity)

- Supported customer security reviews against SOC 2, PCI DSS, or HIPAA
