Premises Liability Mid-Level to Senior Associate

ABOUT THE ROLE
Join a growing defense litigation team handling premises liability matters, including slip-and-fall and corporate claims. You will manage cases across the litigation lifecycle, work directly with clients, and collaborate with experienced attorneys on litigation strategy and trial preparation.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Take and defend depositions, attend court hearings, and participate in site inspections.
- Draft and respond to written discovery, including interrogatories, document requests, and requests for admission.
- Manage cases from initial evaluation and pleadings through discovery, motion practice, trial preparation, and resolution.
- Prepare case evaluations and status reports, and communicate proactively with clients and carriers.
- Analyze and execute litigation strategies in support of client objectives.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Five or more years of civil litigation defense experience, including premises liability matters.
- Experience handling premises claims such as slip-and-falls and cases involving corporate clients.
- Substantial deposition experience, including taking and defending 20 or more depositions.
- Experience with written discovery, law and motion practice, demurrers, and motions for summary judgment.
- Ability to independently manage cases from initial evaluation through resolution and meet a 1,920-hour annual billable requirement.
- Juris Doctor degree and active California State Bar membership in good standing.
- Experience working on a team-based defense practice and communicating with clients and carriers.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Base salary range: $135,000 to $185,000 annually. Employer visa sponsorship is not available.
LOCATION
Hybrid role based in Los Angeles, California, with remote flexibility.
