Hardware Engineer Mechatronics

You will design and fabricate robot hardware, integrate mechanical and electrical subsystems, and take retrofit kits from requirements through installation documentation. You will troubleshoot hardware, support robot-cell safety work, maintain lab equipment, and turn recurring prototype needs into reusable, documented hardware.
Responsibilities- Design and fabricate mounts, adapters, fixtures, interfaces, and compute enclosures
- Integrate robot arms, mobile bases, sensors, compute, power distribution, and cable harnesses
- Take retrofit kits through supplier coordination, assembly, validation, bills of materials, and installation documentation
- Support robot-cell safeguarding with qualified safety specialists
- Diagnose, repair, and recommission mechanical and electrical hardware
- Maintain calibration fixtures, spares, configuration records, and operating procedures
- Convert recurring prototype requests into reusable hardware
Requirements- Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent
- 3+ years of professional experience
- Experience designing, assembling, and deploying reliable mechatronic or robotic hardware
- Strong CAD, rapid prototyping, fabrication, mechanical assembly, and design iteration skills
- Understanding of loads, stiffness, tolerances, fasteners, cable routing, and sensor and actuator mounting
- Experience with low-voltage power, connectors, harnesses, and electrical troubleshooting using a multimeter and oscilloscope
- Experience writing test procedures, bills of materials, assembly instructions, and maintenance documentation
- Knowledge of robot hazards across mechanical, electrical, controls, and software systems
