About the RoleWe're looking for a Director of Product Marketing, Legal to own the Legal persona end to end- taking on a general manager mindset for this segment of Ironclad's business.
You'll own the full arc: understanding what legal teams need, shaping how Ironclad builds for them, and driving the pipeline, adoption, and revenue that proves it's working. You'll be the internal voice of the legal buyer and the external champion of Ironclad's value to that buyer.
What You'll OwnMarket & Competitive Intelligence
- Be the definitive expert on the legal buyer — their priorities, pain points, buying process, and how they talk about value.
- Track the competitive landscape and translate it into sharp, usable positioning.
- Surface insights from customers, prospects, analysts, and the market to influence the product roadmap and GTM strategy.
Positioning & Messaging
- Define and maintain Ironclad's narrative for the Legal persona — from GC to Legal ops.
- Build messaging that holds up in a board room, a sales call, and a campaign — clearly differentiated, evidence-backed, and free of buzzwords.
- Partner with EPD to ensure that what we build and what we say are tightly aligned.
Launches
- Lead all product launches relevant to the Legal persona - strategy, messaging, assets, and field readiness.
- Own the launch narrative and ensure every stakeholder can tell the story confidently.
Campaigns & Demand Generation
- Partner with Revenue Marketing to design and execute campaigns targeting legal buyers at every stage of the funnel.
- Develop campaign themes, content strategy, and proof points that convert awareness into pipeline.
Sales Plays & Enablement
- Own the priority sales plays for the Legal segment
- Equip sellers with sharp, ready-to-use tools: talk tracks, battlecards, objection handlers, discovery guides.
- Ensure field-readiness is measurable, not just assumed.
Adoption & Expansion
- Partner with CS and Product to drive adoption of Legal-focused AI capabilities post-sale.
- Identify expansion signals and build the plays that turn satisfied users into expanded accounts.
What We're Looking For- 8+ years of B2B product marketing experience, ideally at an AI or SaaS company serving legal buyers.
- Proven ability to own a persona or segment end to end — not just launches, but pipeline, adoption, and business outcomes.
- Sharp strategic thinker who can also write a killer one-pager and prep a seller for a tough competitive call.
- Fluency in the legal buyer's world — what a GC cares about, how legal ops thinks about ROI, why deals stall.
- Strong cross-functional instincts: knows when to lead, when to align, and how to get things done across EPD, Sales, CS, and Marketing.
- Comfortable working with data — can pull insights from Gong, Salesforce, or a win/loss interview and turn them into clear recommendations.
- Thrives in ambiguity; moves fast without waiting for perfect information.
