FinXL IT Professional Services is an established innovative Australian company providing technology enabled business solutions and consulting services across a number of industries including Telecommunications, Commercial, Government and Finance.
We're seeking a hands-on Senior Network Automation Engineer with strong networking, Linux, Python and automation skills, plus exposure to cloud and DevOps. You'll develop, implement and enhance network automation solutions, working across existing systems and new initiatives to improve network operations, reliability and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement network automation solutions for network operations, provisioning and service delivery.
- Write and maintain automation scripts using Python, Shell, Ansible or similar tools.
- Automate network deployment, configuration, monitoring, testing and operational processes.
- Enhance existing automation, troubleshoot issues and improve reliability.
- Support complex network and hybrid cloud environments, including cloud networking.
- Develop and support CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps or similar tools.
- Apply DevOps and Infrastructure-as-Code practices to improve delivery.
- Contribute to automated testing and validation of network configurations and deployments.
- Work with Network Engineering, Operations, Architecture, Security and Vendors on technical solutions.
- Contribute to technical documentation, design discussions and continuous improvement.
Knowledge & Skills Required:
- Strong networking fundamentals and complex troubleshooting skills.\
- Strong Python and Shell scripting, including writing, debugging and modifying code.
- Experience with Ansible, Terraform or similar automation tools.
- Hands-on experience developing or enhancing network automation, provisioning or configuration management solutions.
- Cloud experience and understanding of cloud networking concepts.
- Experience with CI/CD, GitHub workflows and DevOps practices.
- Linux administration and troubleshooting experience.
- Experience with version control and maintaining automation code.
- Docker and Kubernetes exposure is desirable.
Desirable Skills:
- Telecommunications or service provider network experience.
- Exposure to HFC, DOCSIS, CMTS or broadband access networks.
- Experience across carrier, access or aggregation networks.
- Monitoring and observability tools such as Grafana, Splunk or ELK.
