QUALITY MANAGER

Enstrom Helicopter Corporation is seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead our production inspection functions and help ensure the quality, conformity, and reliability of the aircraft and components we manufacture.

This role provides leadership for incoming, in-process, and final inspection activities supporting aircraft components, subassemblies, assemblies, and completed aircraft. The Quality Manager is responsible for developing inspection personnel, strengthening inspection processes, supporting corrective actions, and helping drive continuous improvement throughout manufacturing.

Working closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Regulatory Quality, Supply Chain, and Operations leadership, this position plays an important role in ensuring products meet engineering requirements, Company standards, customer expectations, and applicable FAA and EASA requirements.

What You’ll Do

As Quality Manager, you will:

Lead, coach, and develop incoming, in-process, and final inspection personnel.

-

Manage daily inspection activities supporting aircraft components, subassemblies, assemblies, and completed aircraft.

-

Ensure inspection requirements and standards are consistently understood and applied throughout production.

-

Establish, maintain, and improve inspection procedures, work instructions, forms, records, and supporting documentation.

-

Ensure inspection activities align with engineering drawings, specifications, manufacturing requirements, and applicable regulatory standards.

-

Partner with Manufacturing and Engineering to identify quality risks, resolve concerns, and improve product conformity.

-

Support supplier quality and in-process quality initiatives aimed at improving product quality and operational performance.

-

Participate in investigations involving product and process nonconformities, including root cause analysis and corrective action.

-

Monitor quality trends, inspection results, and performance metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.

-

Support FAA, EASA, customer, and internal quality audits as needed.

-

Promote structured problem-solving, mistake-proofing, and continuous improvement throughout the manufacturing process.

-

Help build a culture of accountability, consistency, and quality across production operations.

-

Ensure compliance with Company safety policies and procedures.

-

Perform other related duties as assigned.

What We’re Looking For

Required Experience

-

At least five years of progressive quality experience within a manufacturing environment.

-

At least three years of supervisory or leadership experience with responsibility for quality or inspection personnel.

-

Significant hands-on manufacturing process experience involving areas such as machining, welding, sheet metal fabrication, assembly, and paint operations.

-

At least five years of aerospace manufacturing experience, including familiarity with FAA regulatory requirements and aerospace quality systems.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

-

Strong understanding of manufacturing quality systems, inspection methods, process controls, and product conformity.

-

Ability to read, interpret, and apply engineering drawings, specifications, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).

-

Experience with structured root cause and corrective action methodologies such as 5-Why, A3, 8D, or similar approaches.

-

Working knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and manufacturing quality metrics.

-

Demonstrated ability to lead continuous improvement initiatives within a manufacturing environment.

-

Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

-

Ability to work effectively across Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, and Operations.

-

Ability to appropriately challenge processes and influence solutions while maintaining productive working relationships.

-

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams.

Preferred Qualifications

-

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Manufacturing, Quality, or a related technical discipline.

-

Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, 5S, ASQ, or other quality-related training or certifications.

-

Experience with Design for Manufacturability (DFM), mistake-proofing (Poka-Yoke), and advanced manufacturing quality methodologies.

-

Experience within rotorcraft, aircraft manufacturing, or another highly regulated aerospace environment.

-

Familiarity with Enstrom aircraft, manufacturing processes, specifications, or quality systems.

Physical Requirements

This role requires the ability to:

Work effectively in both office and manufacturing environments.

Regularly walk through and work within production and inspection areas.

-

Stand, walk, bend, and move throughout manufacturing areas for extended periods.

-

Occasionally lift and carry items weighing up to 25 pounds.

-

Perform and evaluate detailed visual inspections and technical documentation.

-

Wear required personal protective equipment within designated production areas.
