About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Systems Administrator to join our growing team at Disrupt Digital in Fortitude Valley, Queensland. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in maintaining and optimising our IT infrastructure and systems. As Systems Administrator, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation, security, and reliability of our network and server environments. This role is integral to supporting our business operations and enabling our teams to work efficiently and securely. The position is based in our Fortitude Valley office.

Key responsibilities

- Install, configure, and maintain servers, networks, and computer systems to ensure optimal performance and availability

- Monitor system performance, capacity planning, and resource allocation to identify and resolve potential issues proactively

- Perform regular system backups, disaster recovery testing, and implement backup solutions to protect critical data

- Manage user accounts, access permissions, and security protocols to ensure data integrity and compliance with security policies

- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues in a timely and professional manner

- Apply security patches, updates, and system upgrades to maintain system security and functionality

- Document system configurations, procedures, and changes to maintain comprehensive system records

- Provide technical support and guidance to end users and internal teams regarding system usage and troubleshooting

- Collaborate with IT team members and stakeholders to plan and implement system improvements and infrastructure enhancements

- Monitor compliance with IT policies and security standards across all systems and network infrastructure

- Evaluate, deploy, and maintain AI-driven tools, automation scripts, and workflows to streamline IT operations, optimize system monitoring, and enhance internal team productivity

- Research emerging technologies, recommend system and network upgrades, and assist leadership with infrastructure enhancements.

What we're looking for

- Relevant certification or qualification in systems administration, network administration, or a related IT discipline (such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Associate, or equivalent)

- Proven experience (minimum 2-3 years) working in a systems administration or similar IT infrastructure role

- Strong technical knowledge of server operating systems, including Windows Server and/or Linux environments

- Solid understanding of networking concepts, TCP/IP protocols, and network troubleshooting methodologies

- Experience with virtualisation technologies and cloud infrastructure platforms (such as VMware, Hyper-V, or AWS)

- Proficiency in system monitoring tools and backup solutions

- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail with the capacity to work independently and as part of a team

- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

- Knowledge of IT security best practices, data protection principles, and compliance requirements

- Ability to prioritise workload effectively and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
