Remote | QA & Source Inspection — $60–$100/hour

We are sharing a specialised consulting opportunity for experienced quality assurance and source-inspection professionals with deep expertise in First Article Inspection, manufacturing quality, government source inspection, aerospace and defence standards, and marine surveying to contribute to advanced AI training and technical evaluation initiatives.

Selected professionals will evaluate inspection scenarios, assess manufacturing and structural quality data, apply regulated-industry standards, document disposition decisions, and provide expert technical reasoning across aerospace, defence, and marine contexts. No prior AI experience is required; hands-on quality-inspection expertise is the primary qualification.

Key Responsibilities

First Article Inspection & AS9102 Review

- Evaluate First Article Inspections against AS9102 requirements

- Assess documentation for regulatory and customer compliance

- Identify incomplete, inconsistent, or non-compliant inspection records

- Apply professional judgement to disposition decisions

- Document inspection findings and technical rationale clearly

Manufacturing Quality & Defect Disposition

- Assess cosmetic defects in manufacturing and assembly environments

- Determine whether identified conditions warrant acceptance or rejection

- Apply practical production-quality judgement to inspection scenarios

- Document disposition decisions with detailed technical justification

- Identify recurring quality issues and potential production concerns

Source & Production Inspection

- Analyse web and production-line inspection data

- Identify trends affecting quality and source-inspection decisions

- Develop recommendations based on inspection findings

- Apply supplier and production-quality principles to simulated scenarios

- Evaluate manufacturing evidence for consistency and reliability

Government & Regulated Inspection

- Apply Government Source Inspection principles to evaluation tasks

- Interpret DCMA inspection protocols where relevant

- Apply FAR Part 46 requirements to simulated quality scenarios

- Evaluate compliance considerations in regulated manufacturing environments

- Identify inspection issues requiring escalation or additional review

Marine Survey & Technical Reporting

- Review documentation and data related to hull and marine structures

- Provide expert input on virtual marine-survey scenarios

- Apply relevant inspection and structural-quality judgement

- Generate detailed reports reflecting findings and rationale

- Communicate technical conclusions clearly in written and verbal form

Ideal Profile

- 8+ years of professional experience conducting complex quality inspections

- Significant experience with First Article Inspection and production-quality disposition

- Deep familiarity with AS9102 First Article standards

- Practical experience interpreting government inspection requirements

- Familiarity with DCMA protocols and FAR Part 46

- Background in U.S. aerospace or defence manufacturing is highly relevant

- Marine-survey experience in regulated environments is also strongly valued

- Demonstrated understanding of hull and marine survey processes

- Experience assessing cosmetic defects and manufacturing acceptance criteria

- Strong ability to interpret production-line and inspection data

- Experience making technically defensible acceptance or rejection decisions

- Strong written and verbal technical communication skills

- Ability to explain inspection rationale clearly and concisely

- Proficiency with digital documentation and reporting tools

- Comfortable collaborating in a remote professional environment

- Experience as a senior QA inspector, supplier quality engineer, DCMA QAR, or marine surveyor is strongly preferred

- No prior AI-training or model-evaluation experience is required

Engagement Details

- Independent contractor engagement

- Fully remote

- Compensation: $60–$100/hour

- Work will involve First Article Inspection, manufacturing-quality review, source inspection, government inspection scenarios, and marine-survey evaluation

- Assignments may reference AS9102, DCMA protocols, FAR Part 46, cosmetic acceptance criteria, and production-line inspection data

- Strong professional judgement and clearly documented disposition rationale are central to the engagement

- Contributors may be asked to generate reports, evaluation data, and structured quality assessments

- Project materials may span aerospace, defence, manufacturing, and marine contexts

- Project scope, inspection scenarios, and technical documentation may vary depending on project requirements

- Work must be completed without using classified, controlled, export-controlled, confidential, proprietary, government-restricted, customer-sensitive, or otherwise protected information belonging to any employer, client, government entity, supplier, manufacturer, institution, or other third party
