Senior Technical Program Manager, Fragrance

Osmo · Elizabeth, New Jersey, United States · onsite

USD 150,000 to 215,000 per year

WHO WE ARE AT OSMO:

Osmo is the Olfactory Intelligence company, on a mission to give AI a sense of smell to improve the health and wellbeing of human life. Why? Our sense of smell has the ability to delight us, protect us, and heal us.

Olfactory Intelligence has applications across industries including fragrance, manufacturing, security, medicine, and more. We believe in the power of automation and thoughtfully applied AI/ML to solve problems beyond the reach of human intuition alone.

We're headquartered in Elizabeth, NJ, with an additional office in Somerville, MA. We provide complimentary shuttle service from Brooklyn and Newark, NJ.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

As Senior Technical Program Manager, you will lead program management for Fragrance House and report to the SVP of Product Management. You own the plan, schedule, metrics, and risks for a portfolio that spans the software platform and AI tools that run the business, programs for enterprise and direct customers, new product launches, and manufacturing in house and with contract manufacturers. You start with the platform, working with product and engineering to define and ship it, then own how it connects to the lab, manufacturing, and shipping so the tools match how the work is done.

You also own the path from signed order or customer brief to product that arrives on the committed date and meets specification. You do not manage the teams you work across, so you lead through written plans, data, and the curiosity to understand each team's real constraints. Tenacity keeps programs moving when demand exceeds capacity, and kindness keeps the trade-offs you push back on from costing you trust.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

- Own the Portfolio — Run the Fragrance House program portfolio, including intake, scoping, and prioritization of new programs as the business adds customers, products, and capabilities.

- Ship the Platform — Partner with product management and engineering to plan and deliver the software platform and AI tools that run Fragrance House, from requirements through launch.

- Roll Out Tools to Operations — Lead the rollout of new software and AI tools into lab and manufacturing operations, including training, adoption tracking, and the feedback loop to engineering.

- Connect Software to Physical Work — Map where software and physical processes meet, automate the manual steps that cause delay or error against a baseline, and make sure data created in physical work (formulas, batch records, quality results) reaches the systems and models that depend on it.

- Own Order to Delivery — Own the process from signed order or customer brief through formulation, sampling, production, quality release, and shipment, and set the service level and metric for each handoff.

- Govern Program Metrics — Define objectives, scope, milestones, and metrics for each program, and run KPI reporting across the portfolio for on-time delivery, brief turnaround time, tool adoption, quality, and cost to serve.

- Run the Operating Cadence — Lead weekly business reviews, quarterly planning, and inputs to the annual operating plan for Fragrance House.

- Manage Dependencies — Coordinate across the teams that support Fragrance House and set priority order with them when demand exceeds capacity.

- Surface Risk Early — Identify risks before they block delivery, document mitigation plans, and escalate trade-offs with a clear recommendation.

- Make It Repeatable — Document standard operating procedures so each program can repeat across customers and product categories.

WHO YOU ARE:

- 5+ Years in Program or Project Management — You have a sustained track record running programs, not a single stretch of project coordination.

- Software and AI Delivery — You have delivered software or AI products with engineering teams, from requirements through launch.

- Software Meets Physical Operations — You have delivered programs that connect software systems to manufacturing, lab work, or supply chain.

- Strategy Through Delivery — You have owned program strategy and end to end delivery, and you communicate results clearly to senior leadership.

- Data-Driven — You use data and metrics to decide what to fix and to prove that the fix worked.

- Cross-Functional Leader Without Authority — You work across technical and non-technical teams, and you set priorities and resolve conflicts through written plans and data rather than reporting lines.

- Curious and Kind Under Pressure — You ask real questions about how each team works, and you push back on trade-offs with respect so people keep bringing you problems early.

- Education — Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, chemistry, business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

- On Site in Elizabeth, NJ — 5 days in office, or hybrid at 3 days in office.

WAYS TO STAND OUT:

- AI, ML, or Data Platform Background — You have worked at a company building AI, machine learning, or data platforms.

- New Product and Market Launches — You have led programs through the launch of new products, categories, or markets.

- Order to Delivery Ownership — You have owned an order to delivery process across commercial, operations, and logistics teams.

- Enterprise Delivery Commitments — You have managed programs for enterprise customers with contracted delivery dates.

- Fragrance and Adjacent Industries — You have worked in fragrance, flavor, cosmetics, personal care, or consumer packaged goods.

- Contract Manufacturing — You have managed contract manufacturers or tolling arrangements.

- Advanced Degree — Master's degree or MBA.
