The Role

Mach is seeking a highly capable Mission Logistics & Global Trade Manager to lead complex domestic and international movements supporting our defense programs.

This role will focus on sensitive and difficult shipments, including export-controlled hardware, energetics, propulsion systems, hazardous materials, and other defense-related technologies moving to customers, test sites, demonstrations, and deployment locations around the world.

The ideal candidate combines strong logistics and global trade expertise with exceptional resourcefulness, judgment, and ownership. They must be able to quickly assess regulatory, transportation, and destination-specific constraints, determine compliant paths forward, and drive the approvals, partners, documentation, and transportation required to execute.

This person will work closely with Supply Chain, Legal, Security, Engineering, and Program teams to ensure critical hardware moves safely, compliantly, and on schedule.

Key Responsibilities

Mission & Defense Logistics

- Plan and execute complex domestic and international movement of defense-related hardware.

- Develop logistics plans supporting international customer deliveries, testing, demonstrations, deployments, and other critical program activities.

- Determine viable transportation approaches when traditional commercial shipping methods are not sufficient.

- Develop primary and contingency logistics plans for critical program movements.

- Coordinate end-to-end shipment execution from initial planning through final delivery.

- Identify transportation, regulatory, and destination-specific constraints early and develop mitigation plans before they impact program schedules.

- Support movements into remote, infrastructure-constrained, or otherwise challenging international locations.

Global Trade & International Movement:

- Partner with Legal, Security, Programs, Engineering, and Supply Chain to support compliant international movement of controlled hardware.

- Support shipments involving ITAR- and EAR-controlled products and technology.

- Coordinate export licenses, import authorizations, temporary exports/imports, customs documentation, and other required approvals.

- Support classification and documentation requirements including HTS, Schedule B, ECCN, country of origin, and related trade data.

- Work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure required documentation and authorization is in place prior to shipment.

- Maintain appropriate shipment and trade records.

Hazardous Materials & Specialized Transportation:

- Plan and execute movement of hazardous and regulated materials, including energetics, propulsion systems, batteries, fuels, and Class 1 materials.

- Ensure appropriate packaging, labeling, documentation, handling, and carrier requirements are established.

- Coordinate specialized transportation requirements with Engineering, EHS, Security, and external providers.

- Develop solutions for shipments requiring specialized handling, routing, security, or carrier capability.

Logistics Partners & Execution:

- Develop and maintain relationships with freight forwarders, customs brokers, carriers, dangerous-goods specialists, and other partners capable of supporting complex defense shipments.

- Identify and qualify specialized logistics providers for sensitive and international movements.

- Manage external partners through execution of critical shipments.

- Develop alternative routes, carriers, modes, and contingency options where required.

- Rapidly escalate and resolve transportation issues that threaten program schedules.

Cross-Functional Program Support:

- Partner with Program Management, Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Legal, Security, and Operations during planning for international tests, demonstrations, deliveries, and deployments.

- Identify logistics requirements and long-lead approvals early in the program planning process.

- Provide subject-matter expertise for complex international movement of defense-related hardware.

- Help develop repeatable processes and capabilities as Mach's international operations expand.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field; significant relevant experience may substitute for a degree.

- 7+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, global trade, import/export operations, or a related discipline.

- Experience planning and executing domestic and international shipments.

- Experience with international shipping documentation, customs processes, and import/export requirements.

- Experience working with freight forwarders, customs brokers, carriers, and logistics providers.

- Experience supporting hazardous, regulated, controlled, or high-value shipments.

- Demonstrated ability to solve complex logistics problems with incomplete information and significant schedule constraints.

- Strong judgment, attention to detail, ownership, and cross-functional communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience supporting aerospace, defense, munitions, missile, UAS, propulsion, or other highly regulated hardware programs.

- Experience moving ITAR-controlled defense articles internationally.

- Experience supporting international defense customers, demonstrations, deployments, or test operations.

- Experience with export licensing, temporary exports/imports, customs, and international trade requirements.

- Experience shipping Class 1 explosives, energetics, propulsion systems, or other dangerous goods.

- Experience with DOT, IATA, IMDG, or related hazardous-material transportation requirements.

- Experience developing logistics solutions for challenging international destinations.

- Experience with specialized air freight, charter, dedicated transport, secure transportation, or other non-standard logistics solutions.

- Strong network of specialized freight forwarders, customs brokers, carriers, or dangerous-goods providers.

Additional Requirements

- Available to work extended hours and weekends as needed

ITAR Requirements

To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
