Sr. Technical Program Manager, Enterprise Productivity - Communicate & Connect
Amazon · Dublin, IRL
Enterprise Productivity (EP) Communicate & Connect is looking for an experienced Sr. Technical Program Manager (TPM) to be the program-management backbone of our newly combined pillar. The pillar owns how more than a million Amazon employees message, meet, call, and email, across Slack, Zoom, telephony, fax, and email. You will report directly to Suresh Selvaraj, the pillar’s single-threaded leader, and you will have two connected mandates.
First, you will partner closely with EP’s Principal Engineer for AI-native software development. Together you will turn a cross-cutting technical vision into a governed, measurable delivery program across 50+ services. Second, you will be the umbrella TPM for the whole org. You will own the single mechanism we use to track, report, and drive business deliverables, including our business reviews and long-term operational planning.
A successful candidate will also demonstrate:
• Comfort working with org-wide scope and high ambiguity, across first-party services and third-party SaaS platforms
• Ability to think strategically about a multi-year transformation while executing methodically week to week
• Enough technical depth to engage credibly with Principal Engineers on architecture, dependencies, and adoption
• Data fluency, using metrics and hard data to back up status, risks, and recommendations
• Clear, concise writing for Directors and VPs in Amazon narrative format
• An owner’s mentality and willingness to dive deep and do whatever is needed to deliver
Key job responsibilities
In this role:
- You partner with EP’s Principal Engineer to program-manage the AI-native SDLC transformation, including spec-driven development, AI-assisted code generation, automated testing, and intelligent CI/CD. You track adoption across Dublin teams and other locations.
- You coordinate delivery across the Principal Engineer’s principal-level workstreams: AI agent governance, email security modernisation, vendor API reliability and observability, and AI-native SDLC. You keep cross-team dependencies, decisions, and risks visible and on track.
- You own the business operating cadence for the entire Communicate & Connect org. You run business reviews end to end, including the narrative, the metrics, and putting the documents together.
- You build and maintain one deliverables tracker across every service. It maps commitments to goals, status, and risk, and you use it to hold teams accountable to dates.
- You combine team-level plans into the pillar’s operation plans and goal submissions, so EP leadership sees one coherent story.
- You lead cross-service programs spanning email, Slack, Zoom, and telephony. You influence priorities without direct authority and make data-backed cases for sequencing and resourcing.
- You spot delivery and operational risks early and bring them to leadership with mitigation plans before they become blockers.
- You are a simplifier. You add, refine, and retire mechanisms so teams spend less time on process and more on delivery.
- You take part in hiring and mentoring other TPMs and engineers on program management best practices.
A day in the life
In a typical week you might sync with the Principal Engineer on AI-native adoption progress and blockers, run a cross-service dependency review, pull metrics from service owners to update the deliverables tracker, and draft the pillar’s MBR narrative for EP leadership. You will move between deep technical conversations and executive business reviews, often on the same day.
About the team
Communicate & Connect is part of Enterprise Productivity, which owns crucial productivity services that power how more than a million Amazon employees create, communicate, collaborate, and operate. Our pillar puts messaging, meetings, voice, and email under one owner so customers never feel the seams between services.
We are working toward the EP vision, “Amazonians make the decisions. Our tools do the rest.” To get there, we are unifying the operational layer and applying one autonomous-operations playbook across email, Slack, Zoom, and voice. Our Dublin hub is EP’s largest engineering site outside the US and is central to this transformation. We value diverse perspectives and an inclusive culture grounded in Amazon’s Leadership Principles.
