Overview:

The District Manager is a strategic business leader responsible for driving operational excellence, sales growth, and profitability across all stores within the designated district. This role oversees a team of Store Managers and/or Market Managers, ensuring consistent execution of brand standards, exceptional customer experience, talent development, and operational compliance.

The District Manager partners cross-functionally with corporate leaders in Merchandising, HR, Finance, Marketing, and Operations to deliver on company objectives and elevate overall district performance.

As a culture carrier and brand ambassador, the District Manager motivates teams, inspires accountability, and champions initiatives that drive customer loyalty, operational efficiency, and employee engagement. By leveraging data-driven insights, market trends, and performance analytics, this role implements strategies to optimize store performance and ensure a seamless, memorable brand experience across the district.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Client Development

- Drive district growth to achieve and exceed financial targets while managing budgets effectively.

- Lead and develop retail teams to deliver on business objectives.

- Ensure store teams build and maintain strong client relationships to meet sales goals.

- Monitor and analyze district sales performance; assign productivity goals and provide training and coaching to achieve them.

- Ensure Store Managers proactively manage clienteling through Tulip.

- Partner with Merchandising and Allocation teams to maintain optimal product assortment and availability.

- Build and maintain productive relationships with local department store management and wholesale partners.

- Develop initiatives to strengthen brand awareness among existing and new customer groups.

- Oversee district-level community events and activations in collaboration with the Events team.

- Provide input to CRM initiatives and ensure effective utilization of Tulip for client engagement and loyalty.

Team Development & HR Management

- Oversee recruiting and staff all open store positions in partnership with Regional Director, Director of Field Recruiting, and HR.

- Manage annual review process for direct reports and oversee performance evaluations across the district.

- Identify talent, implement development plans, and create succession strategies to support business growth.

- Ensure effective communication and implementation of Veronica Beard training programs.

Retail Operations & Performance Management

- Provide district input for regional budgets and develop strategies to achieve financial targets.

- Manage District P&L to meet controllable contributions and expenses.

- Safeguard company assets, customers, and employees through strict compliance and security measures.

- Partner with Regional Director and retail Operations Director to develop and monitor store policies and procedures.

- Streamline operational processes for efficiency and effectiveness.

- Lead new store openings in collaboration with corporate store development and design teams.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

- Ability to travel extensively (approximately 70%) and work a flexible schedule.

- 10+ years of retail management experience, including in a multi-store environment.

- Strong digital skills, including Microsoft Office and data analysis.

- Proven leadership with a track record of career accomplishments.

- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.

- Exceptional organizational abilities.

- Foster a work climate that inspires mutual trust, respect, professionalism, and teamwork to achieve goals

- Visits stores in their Area regularly and schedules virtual visits

- Takes initiative to be solution-oriented and make decisions with critical thinking skills

- Excellent time management and calendar planning
