What you will have an opportunity to do:

Director of Housekeeping | Marriott Colorado Springs

Great hotels run on great housekeeping. At the Marriott Colorado Springs, the Director of Housekeeping is the architect of that standard. You will set the tone for every room, every corridor, every public space your guests encounter. This is a leadership role in the fullest sense: you build teams, drive systems, own results, and carry the pride of a department that sits at the very heart of the guest experience.

We are looking for a seasoned housekeeping leader who leads from the floor, develops people with intention, and holds the department to an uncompromising standard of cleanliness and service.

About the Role

As Director of Housekeeping, you will have full operational ownership of the Housekeeping Department, covering guest rooms, front and back of house, public areas, and laundry. You will set staffing strategy, lead quality inspections, manage budgets and supply controls, and partner with Engineering and Front Office to keep the property running at its best.

This is an exempt, salaried position. Your schedule will vary based on business needs and property demands, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Exempt managers are expected to customarily and regularly direct the work of at least three full-time associates, with primary duties consisting of administrative, executive, or professional tasks more than 50% of the time and involving discretion and independent judgment.

What You'll Be Doing

Your primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Leading daily operations across all housekeeping functions including rooms, public areas, and laundry, ensuring coverage and quality at every level of the property

• Developing and maintaining staffing assignments, scheduling, and project work plans to ensure proper service levels and productivity targets are met

• Directing, coaching, and motivating a team of room attendants, housekeeping supervisors, laundry staff, and public area attendants; serving as the standard-bearer for performance and culture

• Monitoring attendance patterns and addressing absenteeism proactively in partnership with HR, following progressive disciplinary guidelines when necessary

• Conducting quality assurance inspections of guest rooms, public spaces, back of house, and storage areas; identifying facility concerns and ensuring follow-up actions are completed without delay

• Overseeing supply and chemical controls, including proper storage, usage training, and budget compliance

• Maintaining all housekeeping offices, closets, and storage areas in a clean, organized, and professional condition at all times

• Leading and facilitating departmental meetings, training sessions, and performance reviews; ensuring all associates receive proper onboarding, ongoing education, and updated duty lists

• Managing records, logbooks, variance documentation, and reports accurately and in a timely manner

• Conducting regular property walk-throughs with the General Manager and Property Engineer to uphold facility standards

• Responding to guest concerns, internal requests, and special projects with urgency and professionalism

• Maintaining facility security integrity at all times and ensuring adherence to all safety programs

• Partnering with Front Office to manage room inventory, room status updates, and turn-around expectations

• Participating in corrective action meetings and preparing disciplinary documentation in accordance with company policy

• Performing other duties as assigned by the General Manager

What We're Looking For

• A composed, solutions-oriented leader who sets expectations clearly and follows through consistently

• Someone who inspires accountability without micromanaging and builds teams that take ownership of their work

• An operator who is as comfortable on the floor as they are in a budget conversation

• A communicator who keeps Front Office, Engineering, and senior leadership informed and aligned

• A people developer who sees the potential in every associate and creates a culture where people want to stay and grow

What are we looking for?

Qualifications

• At least 7 years of progressive experience in a hotel or related hospitality field; OR a 2-year degree with 5+ years of experience; OR a 4-year degree with 3+ years of progressive experience

• Proven supervisory and departmental management experience in a full-service or upper-upscale hotel environment

• Proficiency in property management systems (PMS) and standard office software including spreadsheets and word processing

• Strong working knowledge of housekeeping operations, chemical safety, OSHA standards, and laundry procedures

• Valid driver's license as applicable

• Bilingual in Spanish strongly preferred

• Ability to evaluate complex operational situations, prioritize under pressure, and make sound independent judgments

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to prepare clear reports, documentation, and professional correspondence

Who Thrives Here

The right person for this role brings both discipline and heart to their leadership. You are consistent, visible, and invested in the growth of your team. You understand that a clean room is more than a metric; it is the foundation of every guest experience. You lead by example, you hold your standard even under pressure, and you bring your team with you every step of the way.
