Senior AI Governance Analyst
Groq · Dallas, United States
About GroqInference is the engine that powers AI, and Groq was built from the silicon up to deliver the world's fastest inference at scale. We pioneered the LPU—the first processor designed specifically for AI inference—and are transforming that innovation into a global cloud platform powering production AI workloads.
With the capital, infrastructure, and team to execute, we're uniquely positioned to define the next era of AI infrastructure. The opportunity is massive, and it's still wide open. Now let's go build it!
MissionGroq is seeking a Senior AI Governance Analyst to run AI governance operations across Groq's inference products and the models we host. You will bring the EU AI Act, other incoming AI regulation and customer AI requirements into product, contract and design reviews before launch, so evidence exists when customers and auditors ask. This role owns operational readiness; Legal remains responsible for legal determinations.
Responsibilities & opportunities in this role:- Maintain the AI obligations within Groq's obligations library (EU AI Act, emerging AI laws, customer AI commitments and model licence conditions), mapped to controls and owners, with a written operational position per requirement. Legal determinations, including Groq's role under each law, remain with Legal.
- Run AI governance reviews at design stage for new models, features, sites and contract terms: applicability, risk, required safeguards and launch conditions, with each decision recorded.
- Maintain the inventory of models Groq serves: provider, licence terms, intended use, data handling and the controls that apply to each.
- Own responses to customer AI questionnaires and the AI sections of security reviews, and build a reusable answer library with Legal and Product.
- Track the AI regulatory horizon, assess the operational impact of new requirements ahead of their effective dates, and report AI governance posture and open risks to security leadership monthly.
- Prepare the AI management system for ISO/IEC 42001 certification if leadership approves it.
Ideal candidates have/are:- 5+ years in technology risk, compliance or privacy, including at least 2 years of hands-on AI governance or responsible AI work.
- Working knowledge of the EU AI Act, NIST AI RMF and ISO/IEC 42001, and experience turning them into controls, review checklists and audit evidence.
- Experience running pre-launch AI risk or impact assessments with engineering and product teams, with decisions documented to a standard that holds up in audit.
- Enough technical fluency in the ML lifecycle (training, fine-tuning, evaluation, inference serving) to question engineers credibly.
- Experience answering customer AI due diligence and partnering with Legal on contract terms; comfortable knowing which questions belong to them.
- Experience with GRC tooling preferred.
- IAPP AIGP or equivalent certification preferred.
