ABOUT THE ROLE
Lead and scale multiple product engineering squads at a mission-driven K-12 education technology company. You will guide technical direction and product delivery as the organization grows, partnering closely with product and other cross-functional teams.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Manage multiple engineering squads and drive delivery across scheduling, reporting, and elementary school product areas.
- Contribute code, review work, and pair with engineers, with an initial balance of hands-on engineering and leadership that shifts toward leadership over time.
- Make architecture decisions to support a robust, scalable platform.
- Partner with product and other stakeholders to set squad goals and align engineering priorities with business outcomes.
- Deliver high-value product features and advance AI-powered capabilities.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- At least 3 years of engineering management experience, including managing multiple teams; experience managing managers and scaling teams is valuable.
- Strong hands-on engineering skills and backend architecture experience, with the ability to assess trade-offs and remain involved in coding.
- Experience with TypeScript or Python, AWS, and MongoDB; familiarity with React is also relevant.
- Ability to connect technical decisions to business outcomes and communicate effectively across functions.
- Experience in K-12 education technology or related learning and teaching fields, with a demonstrated interest in mission-driven work.
- Comfort working in a startup or high-growth environment and learning to apply AI capabilities.
- Ability to travel for periodic company retreats and business needs.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Base salary is $210,000 to $240,000 USD annually. Visa sponsorship is available.
