Job Description
- Manage civil litigation matters from initial strategy through resolution.
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests, responses, and other litigation documents.
- Conduct and defend depositions and participate in hearings, mediations, negotiations, and other proceedings.
- Develop case strategy, evaluate risk, and provide practical legal guidance to clients.
- Conduct legal research and produce clear, persuasive written work.
- Communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and other parties.
- Collaborate with attorneys and support staff while maintaining ownership of assigned matters.
- Negotiate settlements and help move cases efficiently toward favorable resolutions.
Qualifications
- Active Virginia bar license in good standing.
- 3+ years of civil litigation experience.
- J.D. from an accredited law school.
- Strong legal research, writing, case management, and advocacy skills.
- Ability to independently manage litigation matters and deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and a client-focused approach.
- Ability to work full-time on-site in Culpeper, Virginia.
- In-house and solo practice candidates are welcome if they have strong civil litigation experience.
