Staff Software Engineer, Business Systems & Integrations
Groq · Dallas, United States
About GroqInference is the engine that powers AI, and Groq was built from the silicon up to deliver the world's fastest inference at scale. We pioneered the LPU—the first processor designed specifically for AI inference—and are transforming that innovation into a global cloud platform powering production AI workloads.
With the capital, infrastructure, and team to execute, we're uniquely positioned to define the next era of AI infrastructure. The opportunity is massive, and it's still wide open. Now let's go build it!
Mission:Groq is seeking a hands-on Senior Software Engineer, Business Systems & Integrations to architect, build, and scale the core software engines connecting our physical AI infrastructure operations with enterprise financial and business platforms.
Unlike traditional business systems or IT administration roles focused on SaaS platform configuration and permissions management, this is a pure software engineering position. You will spend 60% to 70% of your time writing production code, establishing deep system architectures, building production APIs, and implementing automated data pipelines from the ground up.
Your primary focus will be bridging physical infrastructure life cycles (tracking servers, racks, network inventory, and spare parts across procurement, assembly, data center deployment, and retirement) with Groq's core financial ledger in NetSuite. You will take complete architectural ownership of complex integration services, custom scanning and asset applications, and event-driven workflows that eliminate manual operational friction.
Responsibilities & opportunities in this role:Architectural Ownership & Systems Engineering• Build End-to-End Integrations: Architect, develop, and maintain high-throughput, production-grade microservices and API integrations connecting NetSuite ERP with logistics, warehouse, data center management, and procurement systems.• Physical-to-Financial Asset Lifecycle: Design robust data models and internal software tools (including mobile asset scanning applications) to manage physical hardware tracking across assembly, deployment, maintenance, and financial depreciation.• High-Coding Commitment: Dedicate 60–70% of capacity to hands-on software development in Python, Go, or modern TypeScript/JavaScript ecosystems.• Complex Data Alignment: Resolve complex schema and state mismatches across disparate operational systems, ensuring strict data integrity and transactional consistency in NetSuite.
AI, Automation & Production Reliability• Agentic & AI Automation: Architect modern automation workflows using LLM APIs, AI agents, and Model Context Protocol (MCP) to streamline automated reconciliation, document parsing, and exception handling with strict verification controls.• Production Operations & Reliability: Own system reliability, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, access security, audit logs, and monitoring for all production software assets serving internal business customers.• Technical Leadership: Translate ambiguous operational and financial objectives into concrete software system specifications, establishing architectural standards for business systems engineering at Groq.Ideal candidates have/are:Core Qualifications• Experience: 6–8+ years of dedicated software engineering experience designing, building, and operating production services and backend applications.• Software Engineering Fundamentals: Advanced expertise in Python, Go, or comparable object-oriented/functional languages, along with mastery of SQL and relational database modeling.• API & System Architecture: Proven track record of architecting scalable RESTful APIs, webhooks, microservices, and asynchronous event-driven integration pipelines.• Enterprise ERP Expertise: Hands-on experience developing against ERP platforms (preferably NetSuite via SuiteTalk, REST Web Services, or SuiteScript).• Staff-Level Ambiguity Navigation: Demonstrated capacity to operate at an L6/L7 Staff level—taking broadly scoped, ambiguous business problems and independently designing resilient technical approaches.
Preferred Qualifications• Experience building software engines for physical infrastructure, hardware supply chain, inventory management, or data center logistics.• Understanding of core accounting flows (fixed assets, inventory capitalization, depreciation, SOX compliance controls).• Experience leveraging modern AI developer tooling, LLM integration patterns, or agentic frameworks in production environments.• Exposure to internal tooling frameworks (e.g., Retool, custom React/Node.js dashboards).
