We are seeking a Food Service Assistant to join our dynamic catering team in Belfast, United Kingdom. This is an excellent opportunity for a friendly and enthusiastic individual to become part of a busy food service environment, helping to deliver outstanding food and customer service to our clients, staff, and visitors. You will play a vital role in supporting the smooth day-to-day operations of our food service provision whilst maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and hygiene. - Assist with food preparation, portioning, and presentation in accordance with established procedures and standards - Serve customers in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner, ensuring a positive experience
- Operate tills and handle customer transactions accurately and securely - Replenish and maintain service counters, display areas, and dining spaces throughout service periods - Maintain exemplary standards of cleanliness and organisation in kitchen and dining areas, adhering to food safety and health & safety regulations - Follow allergen awareness protocols and communicate relevant information to customers with care and clarity
- Support the catering team in resolving challenges and adapting to changing demands in a fast-paced environment - Collaborate with colleagues to ensure seamless service delivery and contribute to a supportive team atmosphere
**Required Skills and Attributes:** - Excellent communication and people skills with the ability to interact positively with diverse individuals - Strong customer service focus and commitment to delivering exceptional experiences - Reliable, punctual, and flexible approach to work - Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Good attention to detail and organisational abilities - Commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene, and health & safety procedures - Basic numeracy skills for till operations - Physical stamina and capability to stand for extended periods **Desirable Experience:** - Previous experience in catering, hospitality, retail, or customer service environments
- Familiarity with food preparation and service procedures - Knowledge of allergen awareness and dietary requirements **Personal Qualities:** - Collaborative team player with a supportive and inclusive approach - Resilient and adaptable mindset - Willingness to learn and develop within the role - Empathetic and considerate approach to customer and colleague interactions
