Location: Cleveland, OH. This is a primarily in-office position with flexible work-from-home opportunities based on your responsibilities and schedule. We value independence and provide our attorneys with the flexibility to work effectively while staying connected to our team.
Note: Applicants must have an active Ohio Bar license, 4+ years of civil litigation experience, and 2+ years of insurance defense experience. Experience working directly with insurance claims adjusters and both taking and defending depositions is required.

Job Description
- Manage insurance defense and civil litigation matters, developing effective case strategies from initial evaluation through resolution.
- Take and defend depositions, including those involving parties, witnesses, and other relevant participants.
- Prepare pleadings, motions, discovery requests, legal memoranda, and other litigation documents.
- Communicate directly with insurance claims adjusters, providing case updates, evaluations, and strategic recommendations.
- Conduct legal research, analyze evidence, and identify practical solutions to complex litigation issues.
- Represent clients during hearings, mediations, settlement negotiations, and other litigation proceedings as appropriate.
- Collaborate with colleagues while independently managing deadlines, case responsibilities, and client expectations.
Qualifications
- Active Ohio Bar admission in good standing.
- 4+ years of civil litigation experience, with 5+ years especially desirable.
- 2+ years of insurance defense litigation experience.
- Demonstrated experience taking and defending depositions.
- Experience reporting to and working directly with insurance claims adjusters.
- Strong legal writing, research, negotiation, and case management skills.
- Ability to handle litigation matters independently while maintaining strong client relationships.
- Experience in a law firm or in-house legal environment is welcome.
