Location
This is an on-site position in Poughkeepsie, New York. You'll work closely with an experienced litigation team while taking significant ownership of complex matters and client relationships.
Note:
Candidates must be admitted to the New York State Bar and have 5+ years of construction litigation and/or medical malpractice litigation experience. Attorneys with 1+ year of directly relevant experience may also be considered for a separate junior-level opportunity with our team.

Job Description
- Manage construction litigation and/or medical malpractice cases through all phases of litigation.
- Take ownership of commercial and civil litigation matters from initial assessment through trial or resolution.
- Draft and argue pleadings, motions, briefs, and other substantive litigation documents.
- Lead discovery, including document production, written discovery, and depositions.
- Conduct and defend depositions and participate in hearings, mediations, conferences, and trials.
- Develop litigation strategies that align with client objectives and case-specific goals.
- Analyze complex legal and factual issues and provide practical, business-oriented advice.
- Work directly with clients, experts, opposing counsel, and other parties throughout litigation.
- Manage case strategy, deadlines, documentation, and junior team members as appropriate.
- Collaborate with attorneys and support professionals while independently driving matters forward.
Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school.
- Active New York State Bar admission.
- 5+ years of construction litigation and/or medical malpractice litigation experience.
- Ability to independently manage sophisticated litigation matters.
- Strong deposition, discovery, motion practice, and case strategy experience.
- Excellent legal research, writing, analytical, and advocacy skills.
- Strong judgment and ability to provide strategic guidance to clients.
- Excellent communication and client relationship management abilities.
- Trial, hearing, and mediation experience is highly valued.
