Technical Program Manager
Verda · Helsinki, Finland
Verda is building the lead European AI hyperscaler with 100% renewable energy. At Verda, you will build the next generation hyperscaler. We are at a stage where you will have the chance to build foundational services and features that will fuel Verda's future. At your best, you thrive in a growth environment and you are able to take responsibility and deliver projects end to end. You can unblock technical decisions and have experience aligning stakeholders. You enjoy filling in the gaps when there is ambiguity and driving highly technical products.
We’re ambitious, curious, and gutsy doers. We practice a low hierarchy across the company and high morale in our teams. We’ve already achieved a lot, yet we’re only getting started. Now it’s your chance to join the ride. We offer more than just the job - we offer a career-defining opportunity to be part of building something big!
Join Verda while it’s still being built - not once it’s finished.
About the roleWe're looking for a Technical Program Manager to run the cross-team programs that bring new data centres and infrastructure changes to life. Verda is opening new regions across Europe, the US and Asia, and every one of them depends on several teams landing their part in the right order: data-centre operations, networking, storage, SRE, platform and cloud.
You'll own the plan that connects them. You'll turn a signed site and a customer date into a sequenced, tracked program, surface the dependencies and risks early, and make sure the date we give a customer is one the teams can meet.
Your responsibilities- Run new-region turn-ups end to end, from hardware handover to customer-ready, across DC ops, network, storage, SRE, platform and cloud
- Build and maintain one plan per program: milestones, owners, dependencies and critical path, kept in Linear rather than in Slack threads
- Turn deployment-plan dates (hardware installed, first token, customer RFS) into commitments each team has agreed to, and flag early when a date is at risk
- Make sure every workstream has a named owner; chase the gaps nobody has picked up
- Run fleet-wide infrastructure changes that touch many teams, for example OS version alignment, network-stack updates and maintenance windows
- Own stakeholder communication for those programs: status updates, maintenance notices and customer-facing dates via Sales and Clusters
- Keep a program risk register and drive decisions to closure with the people who own them
- Run post-mortems after each turn-up and feed the lessons into the next site's checklist.
- Collaborate with the Engineering leads, focusing on maturing automation, process and tooling.
Your key competencies- Can hold a complex, multi-team plan in your head and on paper, and spot the critical path
- Influences without authority; engineers trust you because you understand the work
- Clear, brief written communication for engineers, leadership and customers
- Comfortable with ambiguity and fast change; you bring structure without slowing teams down
- Data-led: you track progress by evidence, not by status colours
- Calm under pressure when dates and customers are on the line
Required Experience
- 5+ years as a TPM or technical project lead on infrastructure, data-centre or cloud programs
- Technical grounding in servers, Linux, networking and storage, enough to follow an engineering discussion and challenge a plan
- Delivered programs spanning several engineering teams and external vendors
- Experience with engineering tooling such as Linear or Jira, and with written planning and decision records
Preferred Experience
- Data-centre build-outs or region launches at a cloud or GPU provider
- GPU / HPC infrastructure, InfiniBand, bare-metal provisioning or hardware lifecycle
- Working across time zones (Europe and US)
- SRE or infrastructure engineering background
Why Verda- Cash + equity compensation along with various fringe benefits (e.g., healthcare, lunch, wellbeing, etc.).
- Profitable operations with rapid, sustained growth.
- 40+ nationalities, with 6 different ones on the management team.
- An opportunity to make a clear impact and work alongside world-class engineers, researchers, and partners across the global AI ecosystem.
Position Details:- Department: Systems SRE
- Location: EMEA, Helsinki or London
- Work arrangement: Hybrid if at the office (3 days/week on-site)
- Employment type: Full-time, permanent
