Backend Infrastructure Engineer, Anti-Bot

True Talent Solutions Partners · San Francisco · onsite

USD 235,000 to 260,000 per year

ABOUT THE ROLE

Join the infrastructure team at a B2B web data extraction SaaS company, building systems that keep high-volume extraction reliable against websites with sophisticated anti-automation defenses. You will own production infrastructure end to end and help ensure web data remains accessible to AI applications.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

- Architect and operate proxy rotation, IP and session management, and isolated egress infrastructure at scale.

- Improve extraction success rates against aggressive anti-bot and anti-scraping defenses.

- Build and maintain browser and TLS fingerprint management, along with CAPTCHA and challenge-solving infrastructure.

- Monitor proxy-layer health and optimize its cost and operational efficiency.

- Diagnose intermittent failures across the stack and deliver lasting production fixes.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

- More than 3 years of experience in adversarial web infrastructure, proxy-layer engineering, or web data extraction, including recent hands-on production work.

- Experience operating proxy rotation, IP and session management, egress isolation, and proxy economics for third-party web extraction.

- Production experience bypassing major anti-bot defenses and owning extraction success-rate metrics, as well as browser or TLS fingerprinting and CAPTCHA or challenge handling.

- Proficiency with Go and/or Python, plus networking fundamentals such as TCP/IP, HTTP/2, connection pooling, and proxy orchestration.

- Experience owning production systems end to end, including on-call responsibilities and observability tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.

- A practical, reliability-focused approach to complex adversarial systems, with a bias toward shipping, measuring, and iterating.
