Your Opportunity
In this high profile and hands-on role, you'll be accountable for technical design and methodology across assigned Business Banking & Wealth AI use cases. It is hands-on, squad-connected and grounded in shared practice standards, with domain experience in business lending, wealth, credit risk or pricing treated as preferred rather than mandatory.
We’re building AI that can earn trust where it matters: in the decisions, experiences and workflows that support Business Banking & Wealth customers and bankers. This is a senior, hands-on role for an AI Science leader who can turn ambitious use cases into robust technical plans, then roll up their sleeves and help deliver the hardest parts.
You’ll lead technical design and methodology across a set of B&W AI use cases, working in the squads and within shared AI Science practice standards. You’ll bring clarity to trade-offs, challenge design before build, and help AI professionals lift their capability through coaching, rigorous review and practical delivery.
What you’ll make happen …
- Shape technical plans with engineering, product and business partners, surfacing dependencies and trade-offs early.
- Set the technical direction for assigned use cases and select fit-for-purpose modelling, experimentation, retrieval and agentic approaches.
- Design models and agent workflows with eligibility, suitability and vulnerability safeguards built in from the start.
- Lift quality through strong data practices, leakage prevention, temporal validation, calibration, experimentation and fair treatment across customer segments.
- Build and run evaluations that demonstrate quality, human oversight and safe fallback before release recommendations are made.
- Embed AI risk, privacy and security controls, with clear documentation of assumptions, limitations, approvals and material technical risks.
- Diagnose drift, model issues and agent failures with engineers, then validate fixes and recovery.
- Coach AI professionals, strengthen review quality and personally deliver the most complex technical work.
What you’ll bring
- Deep, hands-on experience delivering predictive models, decision science, causal inference or experimentation in complex environments.
- Practical capability across agentic workflows, large language models and retrieval-based solutions.
- A strong command of fairness, explainability, technical assurance and responsible AI controls.
- Working knowledge of MLOps or LLMOps and what it takes to operate AI reliably through its lifecycle.
- The judgement to influence senior stakeholders, make sound technical calls and explain complexity without hiding behind jargon.
- Business lending, wealth, credit risk or pricing decision-science experience is valued, but not essential if you can learn the domain quickly.
