At Pareto, we help businesses manage healthcare costs while creating long-term value. The Product Manager Intern will support the Pareto Customer Experience Product team, which builds and improves customer-facing products and capabilities for insurance brokers, employer groups, and Pareto’s internal service teams.
This role is an opportunity for a curious, analytical student to build skills in product discovery, user research, data analysis, and cross-functional project work. You’ll gain hands-on experience at the intersection of healthcare, insurance, and technology, working with guidance from the product team.
We’re a nimble organization with big plans. We value people who learn quickly, bring a sense of humor, and are eager to make an impact. Pareto offers a casual, fun work environment where people take the company’s mission seriously—and themselves less so.
Desired Competencies:
- Customer empathy: Curious about the needs of brokers, employers, and members, and able to help turn feedback into clear problem statements.
- Analytical mindset: Comfortable using customer insights, product metrics, and research to explore problems and inform recommendations.
- Data and tools: Comfortable working with data in Excel. Experience with SQL, Tableau, Power BI, or similar tools is a plus.
- Communication and collaboration: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain ideas to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Adaptability and execution: Able to make progress with imperfect information and stay organized while managing timelines and deliverables.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support customer research through interviews, surveys, feedback review, and market research; help translate findings into product opportunities.
- Analyze product usage and customer data to identify trends and inform recommendations.
- Help define success metrics for product initiatives and track results over time.
- Draft product requirements and user stories in partnership with Engineering and Design.
- Contribute to roadmap planning and backlog prioritization in alignment with team goals.
- Support feature launches, from discovery through release, including documentation and training materials for internal teams and customers.
- Present findings and recommendations to Product leadership at the end of the summer.
About You:
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Computer or Information Science, Data Science or Analytics, Business Administration, Marketing, Psychology, or a related field.
- Must be a Rising Junior or Rising Senior attending an accredited college or university.
- Available to work in Pareto’s Philadelphia, PA office during the summer, from June through August 2027.
We are guided by our values:
