Sport Signage are looking for a Operations Manager to join our Operations / F1 Event Delivery team.

The Operations Manager is responsible for the overall successful delivery of assigned Formula 1 events on behalf of Sport Signage.

The role acts as the central operational owner of the event, coordinating all relevant delivery workstreams including installation, off-track builds, compound operations, logistics, inventory and assets, fleet, technical requirements, project support and on-site resources.

The Operations Manager ensures that the event is properly planned before mobilisation, delivered safely and effectively on site, and closed out correctly following completion.

While individual functional leads retain ownership of their specialist areas, the Operations Manager is accountable for ensuring those workstreams come together into one coordinated event-delivery plan. The Operations Manager therefore acts as the single operational point of accountability for the assigned event.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

1. Overall Event Ownership

- Take overall operational responsibility for each assigned Formula 1 event.

- Develop a clear understanding of the agreed event scope, client requirements, programme, site conditions, operational constraints and delivery priorities.

- Ensure the required Sport Signage functions understand what is expected of them and when their contribution is required.

- Maintain an integrated view of the entire event rather than managing individual workstreams in isolation.

- Act as the primary operational escalation point for the assigned event and make timely decisions to protect safety, programme, quality and successful delivery.

- Escalate significant matters to the Director of Operations where necessary.

2. Pre-Event Planning & Readiness

- Lead operational preparation for assigned events and ensure a complete delivery plan is developed before mobilisation.

- Confirm requirements for installation, off-track builds, compound, labour, equipment, vehicles, plant and machinery, logistics, inventory and assets, technical support, suppliers, access/accreditation, schedules, venue restrictions and H&S.

- Coordinate functional leads so their plans support the overall event programme and identify interdependencies between workstreams.

- Confirm event readiness before equipment and teams mobilise.

- Raise concerns early where the event cannot reasonably be delivered with the allocated resources, equipment or programme.

3. Event Programme & Schedule Management

- Own the overall operational event programme and ensure activities are sequenced logically against client and venue requirements.

- Coordinate mobilisation, venue access, deliveries, compound setup, installation, off-track builds, snagging, live dates, dismantling, asset return and demobilisation.

- Monitor progress against plan during delivery and coordinate recovery actions where delays occur.

- Ensure changes to one workstream are communicated promptly to all other affected teams.

4. On-Site Operational Leadership

- Act as the senior Sport Signage operational lead for the assigned event.

- Provide direction to the event team, maintain a clear view of delivery status and run appropriate operational briefings.

- Resolve conflicts between workstreams and ensure decisions are made at the appropriate level without unnecessary escalation.

- Maintain communication with the Director of Operations during significant phases of delivery.

- Create an environment in which functional leads own their specialist responsibilities while operating as one event team.

5. Installation Interface

- Work closely with the Installation Manager to ensure installation activity supports the overall event programme.

- Confirm installation priorities, access requirements, handover points and dependencies.

- Review installation progress and identify any impact on the broader event schedule.

- Support the Installation Manager with significant operational issues requiring cross-functional coordination.

- Do not directly manage individual installers as part of normal event operations; define event priorities and programme within which the Installation Manager manages the installation team.

6. Off-Track Build Interface

- Integrate off-track builds into the overall event programme.

- Ensure off-track teams have the required access, equipment, materials, personnel and logistics support.

- Understand dependencies between off-track activity and other event workstreams.

- Monitor progress and intervene where off-track delivery may affect overall event completion. The Off-Track Build Lead retains ownership of the off-track build scope.

7. Compound Operations Interface

- Ensure compound requirements are incorporated into the event plan.

- Work with the Compound Manager on location, access, setup, equipment, welfare, storage, operational layout, vehicles, services, security and dismantling requirements.

- Ensure the compound is ready to support the wider event team when required.

- The Compound Manager retains responsibility for compound setup, operation, standards and associated resources.

8. Event & Project Assistant Interface

- Use the Event & Project Assistant as the event's central coordination and information-support resource.

- Ensure the assistant has access to the information required to maintain accurate schedules, contacts, resource records, change logs, data capture, progress records, issue tracking and closeout documentation.

- Use reliable event data and reporting to support decisions and post-event learning.

- The Event & Project Assistant supports the Operations Manager but does not hold ultimate accountability for the event.

9. Resource Planning

- Identify the labour and specialist resources required to deliver the assigned event.

- Provide the Director of Operations with an accurate event-specific resource requirement and operational justification.

- Identify requirements for installation crews, off-track and compound resources, technicians, plant operators, drivers, logistics support, local labour, freelance labour and wider THE-TEAM support.

- Raise shortages early and use resources responsibly, avoiding unnecessary freelance deployment or labour increases.

- Contribute the event requirement to the installation workforce planning process jointly owned by Jurgen Quaedvlieg and Michaela Neidl.

10. Logistics Interface

- Provide Logistics with clear and timely event requirements and ensure logistics planning reflects the event programme.

- Confirm delivery timing, transport priorities, loading/unloading, venue and compound access, plant/lifting needs, returns, dismantling and onward race movements.

- Communicate changes early and work with Logistics to minimise avoidable transport movements and last-minute freight.

11. Inventory & Asset Management Interface

- Provide clear event equipment and asset requirements to Inventory & Asset Management.
