Salary Range: $94,400 - $106,200

Summary: The Manager, External Affairs provides support in furthering the department’s mission of promoting the wireless industry’s position on policy issues at the federal, state, and local level on behalf of, and in coordination with, CTIA’s members. The Manager reports to the Vice President, External Affairs.

The Manager assists the external affairs team with coordinating meetings, developing advocacy documents such as letters, monthly newsletters, social media and website content, gathering data and developing presentations and providing other assistance as needed. Must demonstrate a strong track record of collaborating with colleagues, a forward-thinking process-driven approach and the ability to roll-up-sleeves to execute relevant projects as needed.

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):

- Social Media, Creative & Communications

- Collaborate on social media content for CTIA's grassroots program, ACTwireless, creating graphics, videos and social content.

- Schedule and monitor ACTwireless social media content across Facebook, LinkedIn and X.

- Compile relevant CTIA updates and produce a monthly newsletter for third-party partner engagement, ensuring accuracy and timely distribution.

- Monitoring & Reporting

- Track partner content through a monitoring tool, leveraging Boolean search to ensure relevant topics to trade association membership.

- Create and distribute weekly reports on third-party and advocacy activities.

- Monitor social media and website metrics, creating visual representations of data for collaborative review.

- Briefings & Events Support

- Support department staff with day-of event logistics.

- Compile lists and distribute invitations, tracking event attendance.

Knowledge -

- Familiarity with social listening or media monitoring tools (e.g., Newswhip) preferred.

- Comfort tracking and analyzing conversation trends on X and other social platforms.

- Strong understanding of report creation and metrics with the ability to synthesize information into clear, concise reports and insights.

Computer Skills –

- Proficiency with email marketing platforms (e.g., Campaign Monitor) and content/deliverable tracking systems preferred.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, including Excel, with general database management preferred.

Education And/Or Experience – A four-year degree is required.

Language skills - Detail-oriented with knowledge of grammar and punctuation. Proficiency in proofreading skills and strong communications skills, both oral and written, are required.

Location - CTIA is currently operating on a hybrid work schedule with in-person requirements on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays in its Washington, DC office.
