POSITION SUMMARY

Hussey Copper, a Pantheon Electric company, is seeking an experienced Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist to support environmental compliance, workplace safety, and continuous improvement initiatives at our Eminence, Kentucky manufacturing facility.

We are looking for a hands-on EHS professional with a bachelor's degree and demonstrated experience supporting safety programs in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

The ideal candidate brings strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, industrial hazard identification, incident investigations, and safety training. This individual will work closely with plant leadership, production teams, and maintenance personnel to maintain a safe, compliant, and productive workplace.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Implement, maintain, and continuously improve environmental, health, and safety programs within a manufacturing environment.

Conduct routine safety inspections, compliance audits, risk assessments, and job safety analyses to identify and mitigate workplace hazards.

Investigate workplace accidents, incidents, and near misses, including root cause analysis and corrective action recommendations.

Support compliance with OSHA regulations, environmental requirements, and company safety policies.

Administer and monitor safety programs related to lockout/tagout (LOTO), machine guarding, hazard communication, personal protective equipment (PPE), and emergency response.

Develop and deliver EHS training to employees, supervisors, and plant leadership.

Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incident investigations, training activities, and regulatory compliance.

Identify workplace hazards and collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to implement effective corrective actions.

Support environmental compliance activities, including waste management, environmental inspections, permits, and applicable reporting requirements.

Analyze safety performance metrics, identify trends, and recommend opportunities to reduce workplace injuries and operational risks.

Partner with plant leadership to promote employee engagement, accountability, and a proactive safety culture.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

-

Bachelor's degree in occupational safety, Environmental Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, Industrial Safety, or a closely related technical discipline.

Minimum of 3 years of professional EHS experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment.

Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA General Industry regulations (29 CFR 1910).

Experience conducting workplace safety audits, hazard assessments, and incident investigations.

Practical understanding of industrial safety programs, including lockout/tagout, machine guarding, hazard communication, and PPE requirements.

Experience developing, implementing, or supporting safety programs within an active production facility.

-

Ability to identify workplace hazards, investigate safety concerns, and recommend corrective actions.

-

Strong communication, documentation, analytical, and organizational skills.

-

Ability to work onsite in an active manufacturing environment and collaborate with employees at all organizational levels.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

-

Experience in metals manufacturing, copper processing, metal fabrication, foundry operations, or other heavy industrial environments.

-

Knowledge of EPA regulations and applicable state environmental compliance requirements.

-

Experience managing EHS performance metrics, corrective action plans, and regulatory documentation.

-

ASP, CSP, OSHA 30-hour General Industry training, or other relevant safety credentials.

-

Experience supporting EHS programs within a unionized manufacturing facility.

-

Demonstrated involvement in continuous improvement initiatives focused on workplace safety and risk reduction.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

This onsite role combines office-based engineering work with hands-on support in an active industrial manufacturing environment. Employees may be exposed to moving mechanical equipment, varying temperatures, loud noise, and heavy production activity.

The position requires walking, sitting, using hands, communicating with others, and occasionally standing, reaching, and lifting or moving up to 25 pounds. Vision requirements include close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
