Job Description:
HPE is seeking a Scope Intake Lead. This is a hybrid role.
Are you energized by turning complex business needs into clear, actionable decisions? As the Lead-to-Cash Scope Intake Lead, you will play a pivotal role in shaping how new HPE Networking priorities move through one of HPE’s most significant transformation programs. You will work across senior business, product, finance, operations, and integration leaders to clarify emerging needs, evaluate impacts and trade-offs, and prepare high-quality scope recommendations for executive decision. This is an opportunity to influence enterprise priorities, strengthen governance, and help translate business strategy into executable outcomes.
Why This Role MattersThis role is central to governing how new HPE Networking business priorities enter the Lead-to-Cash transformation program. The L2C Scope Intake Lead will ensure requests for new capabilities, offerings, supplier and vendor onboarding, SKU availability, and Product Lifecycle Management roadmap actions are clearly defined, cross-functionally aligned, and ready for executive decision.
By strengthening scope intake and governance, this role will help HPE balance emerging business needs with existing commitments, delivery capacity, dependencies, and integration priorities.
We are seeking a strategic and execution-oriented Lead-to-Cash Scope Intake Lead to lead the intake, due diligence, and decision-readiness process for new scope requests governed by the L2C Scope Management office.
This senior individual-contributor role will partner with leaders across HPE Networking, Integration, L2C, Product, Finance, and Operations to translate complex or initially ambiguous requests into well-supported scope proposals. These proposals must clearly articulate the business need, value, timing, impacts, dependencies, risks, resource implications, and potential trade-offs.
The successful candidate will determine whether requests are ready to advance to the L2C Integration Decision Council, facilitate the alignment required to resolve gaps, and drive approved requests through conditions, actions, and closure. The role will also improve the effectiveness, transparency, and simplicity of the overall scope governance process.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the end-to-end intake, due diligence, decision-readiness, and closure process for new L2C scope requests.
- Advise business leaders and requestors on translating business priorities into clearly defined and actionable scope proposals.
- Establish and apply standards for scope documentation, analysis, stakeholder alignment, and decision readiness.
- Assess requests based on business value, strategic alignment, timing, dependencies, risks, resource needs, and operational implications.
- Lead cross-functional due diligence across HPE Networking, Integration, L2C, Product, Finance, Operations, and other affected organizations.
- Challenge assumptions and identify information gaps, conflicting priorities, unintended impacts, and unresolved dependencies.
- Frame options, recommendations, and trade-offs when requested scope or timing does not align with L2C plans, capacity, or commitments.
- Develop concise executive materials that enable informed scope, priority, and investment decisions.
- Coordinate Integration Decision Council agendas and ensure topics are appropriately developed and ready for review.
- Facilitate governance discussions, clarify decisions required, and document outcomes, conditions, owners, and next steps.
- Maintain transparent reporting across the scope pipeline, including request status, decisions, dependencies, risks, actions, and closure.
- Drive accountability for approval conditions and post-decision actions, escalating issues that could affect execution or business outcomes.
- Identify patterns across requests that reveal broader capability gaps, roadmap implications, or systemic constraints.
- Simplify and continuously improve scope intake, governance, tracking, and reporting processes.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
- 10+ years of experience in business operations, transformation, strategy, program leadership, portfolio management, governance, business integration, or a related field.
- Experience leading complex, enterprise-level initiatives involving senior stakeholders, competing priorities, and significant business implications.
- Demonstrated ability to convert ambiguous business needs into structured proposals, recommendations, and executable paths forward.
- Strong business judgment and the ability to challenge assumptions constructively, evaluate alternatives, and recommend appropriate action.
- Experience with scope governance, prioritization, risk assessment, dependency management, and executive decision support.
- Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive alignment and accountability without direct authority.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills across business, operational, financial, technical, and customer considerations.
- Exceptional written, verbal, facilitation, and executive communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent requests in a fast-moving, highly matrixed environment.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience supporting a large-scale transformation, integration, merger, acquisition, or operating-model change.
- Knowledge of Lead-to-Cash, Order-to-Cash, product lifecycle, commercial, supply chain, finance, or go-to-market processes.
- Experience with enterprise intake, portfolio prioritization, demand management, or investment governance.
- Experience supporting executive governance councils or senior portfolio reviews.
- Familiarity with product and offer enablement, SKU availability, supplier or vendor onboarding, or Product Lifecycle Management.
- Experience improving governance processes, standards, controls, and reporting in a global organization.
Success FactorsThe successful candidate will:
- Bring structure and sound judgment to complex or evolving business requests.
- Quickly identify the underlying business need, material implications, and decisions required.
- Anticipate dependencies, risks, and trade-offs before they become barriers to execution.
- Build credibility with senior leaders through business acumen, objectivity, and consistent follow-through.
- Align stakeholders with different priorities, constraints, and perspectives.
- Communicate complex issues and recommendations with clarity and executive-level brevity.
- Maintain ownership from initial intake through decision, fulfillment of conditions, and closure.
- Balance governance rigor with pragmatism and avoid unnecessary bureaucracy.
- Identify opportunities to improve decision quality, process effectiveness, and business outcomes.
- Demonstrate inclusion, collaboration, accountability, resilience, and continuous improvement.
