Senior Technical Recruiter
Seekr · Reston, Virginia, United States · hybrid
We are looking for a Senior Technical Recruiter who is motivated to help build from the ground up. This is a rare opportunity to shape how we attract, engage, evaluate, and hire world-class, mission-driven AI talent in one of the most competitive markets today. You will spend most of your time recruiting across AI, software engineering, embedded systems, product engineering/design, and DevOps.
In a market where the best candidates aren't actively looking, the traditional playbook isn't enough. We want someone who brings fresh ideas to every stage of the process, from finding talent in unexpected places to crafting outreach that stands out to designing evaluation approaches that identify great people quickly and fairly.
You'll have real autonomy to partner directly with hiring managers and business stakeholders, while operating as part of a cohesive, collaborative Talent team. You'll also work cross-functionally with business support functions, including People Ops, HR Business Partners, Security, Finance, and IT, to ensure every hire is seamless from first touch to first day and beyond.
This role is ideal for a full-lifecycle recruiter who thrives in ambiguity, is energized by building rather than maintaining, and takes pride in delivering an exceptional candidate experience, even under high-volume, high-growth pressure.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Own the full-cycle recruiting process, including sourcing, attraction, screening, submission, interview scheduling, offer negotiation, and offer letter administration.
- Recruit across AI/ML, Software Engineering, Forward Deployed Engineering, Product Engineering/Design, and DevOps in both the Commercial and Public Sector spaces.
- Partner directly with hiring managers and business stakeholders to understand hiring needs, define role requirements, and build effective sourcing and interview strategies.
- Proactively source and build talent pipelines for highly specialized, competitive technical talent, thinking creatively about where great candidates spend their time, including technical communities, open-source projects, research circles, conferences, and adjacent industries.
- Develop creative candidate attraction strategies, such as personalized outreach, compelling role narratives, and employer brand initiatives, that set us apart and engage passive talent.
- Help build and roll out a unified interview and assessment plan for technical talent, working across teams and departments to align on consistent evaluation criteria, interview structures, and assessment methods that are rigorous, fair, and predictive of success.
- Bring a test-and-learn mindset to recruiting, experimenting with new tools, channels, and approaches and scaling what works.
- Deliver a consistently high-quality candidate experience at every touchpoint, acting as an ambassador for the company brand in a competitive talent market.
- Help implement new recruiting processes, workflows, and best practices as an early member of a newly formed in-house TA team.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with People Ops, HRBPs, Security, Finance, and IT to ensure smooth requisition approvals, background checks, compliance steps, and onboarding handoffs.
- Manage offer negotiations and extend offer letters, balancing candidate expectations with internal compensation frameworks.
- Maintain compliance with EEOC regulations and other applicable employment laws throughout the recruiting lifecycle.
- Track and report on recruiting metrics to inform hiring strategy and continuously improve process efficiency.
- Act as a trusted advisor to hiring managers on market trends, talent availability, and competitive positioning within the AI and technical talent space.
- Support the scaling of the recruiting function as hiring volume and team structure evolve across North America and Europe.
Qualifications and Skills Required
- 5+ years of full-lifecycle recruiting experience, with a strong track record recruiting for technical roles.
- Demonstrated experience recruiting in one or more of the following areas: AI/ML, Software Engineering, Forward Deployed Engineering, Product Management, Product Design, and/or DevOps.
- Experience recruiting within the Public Sector, including highly cleared positions up to TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph.
- Ability to manage a high-volume requisition load while maintaining candidate experience quality and attention to detail.
- Proven ability to partner with hiring managers and senior stakeholders as a strategic advisor, not just an order-taker.
- Experience building or contributing to recruiting processes in a growing or newly formed team environment.
- Experience designing or improving structured interview and assessment processes for technical roles is a strong plus.
- Strong sourcing skills across multiple channels (LinkedIn Recruiter, Boolean search, GitHub, niche technical communities, etc.), plus a track record of finding creative ways to reach hard-to-find talent.
- A creative, resourceful approach to recruiting, with examples of unconventional solutions you've used to attract or evaluate candidates.
- Solid working knowledge of EEOC compliance and general employment law as it relates to recruiting practices.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Comfortable operating with autonomy while collaborating within a broader TA team structure.
Qualifications and Skills Desired
- Experience recruiting specifically in AI/ML talent markets at various seniority levels (IC through senior/staff).
- Prior experience helping stand up a new recruiting function, team, or process from scratch.
- Certifications such as AIRS, PHR/SPHR, or similar TA/HR credentials.
- Experience partnering with Security, Finance, or IT teams on hiring-related compliance or onboarding workflows.
- Experience with Greenhouse applicant tracking systems (ATS) is strongly preferred.
