Shift pattern: Flexible shift coverage (days, backs, nights) | You’ll also join our weekend rota
We’re looking for a Transport Shift Manager to join our Plymouth depot and play a big part in delivering safe, efficient, and customer-focussed transport operations. Working closely with our Distribution Manager, you’ll lead a team of up to 70 colleagues, including 6 Team Managers, and help to make our depot a place where they can thrive.

What you’ll do
- Lead all aspects of our transport operations including compliance across all shifts
- Be responsible for a team of up to 70 depot colleagues, including 6 Team Managers across a 24/7 operation
- Inspire and coach your team to deliver a high-quality and efficient transport service
- Be responsible for the development and progression of your team members
- Build and maintain a culture of safety, compliance, and belonging across the depot
- Resolve issues and remove barriers to meet performance targets
- Build strong relationships with internal and external partners
What you’ll bring
- A national CPC qualification or willing to work towards this in the next 6 months
- Proven experience in a transport or retail operations environment
- Strong knowledge of transport legislation and operating systems
- Good leadership skills, with a proven ability to support your colleagues’ development
- The ability to successfully deliver operational changes and improvements within a fast-paced environment
- Good communication and relationships building skills, with the ability to influence and challenge people inclusively
