This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Staff Product Designer based in Canada.
As a Staff Product Designer on the AI experience team, you’ll lead high-impact design initiatives shaping how people interact with intelligent products and systems. You’ll define the end-to-end design strategy for AI experiences, from generative interfaces to the future evolution of the platform. Working across Product, Engineering, Research, Revenue, Client Services, and Leadership, you’ll turn complex technical and data-rich systems into intuitive experiences. You’ll help establish how AI communicates reasoning, confidence, uncertainty, and recovery when things go wrong. The role combines exceptional interaction design and prototyping craft with strategic thinking, systems design, and measurable business impact. You’ll also mentor other designers and help raise design quality, consistency, and maturity across the organization. This is a remote-first opportunity offering significant influence in a collaborative, globally distributed environment.
Accountabilities

Lead the end-to-end design strategy for AI experiences, including generative UI and how AI can shape future product interactions.

Establish principles and interaction patterns that help users understand AI reasoning, confidence, limitations, and recovery from errors.

Drive design for complex, multi-team initiatives, from problem framing and strategic direction through refinement and launch.

Partner closely with Product, Engineering, Research, Revenue, Client Services, and Leadership to align design decisions with customer value and business outcomes.

Translate technical, data-rich, and highly automated systems into intuitive, scalable experiences that support confident and efficient decision-making.

Define quality standards for AI-generated responses and collaborate with Engineering on evaluation frameworks and testing.

Develop frameworks, patterns, processes, and systems that improve product quality and consistency across teams and product surfaces.

Balance usability, automation, and performance considerations, including latency, streaming, and cost per interaction.

Mentor and guide designers through feedback, context sharing, systems thinking, and design leadership.

Contribute to the evolution of design practices, ensuring products, processes, and experiences scale with quality and intent.
Requirements:

Extensive experience designing complex products, ideally within data-driven, enterprise, workflow-rich, or technically sophisticated environments.

Proven experience designing AI-powered products and understanding the unique challenges of unpredictable model behavior and dynamically generated interfaces.

Strong practical use of AI tools in the design process, including coded prototypes that interact with real models and tools such as Cursor or Claude Code.

A clear perspective on the future of AI design, supported by a track record of experimenting, building, and acting on emerging opportunities.

Advanced mastery of interaction design, prototyping, and information architecture, with the ability to make abstract and complex concepts understandable.

Demonstrated ability to connect design decisions to measurable user and business outcomes.

Strong cross-functional collaboration skills across technical, commercial, operational, and leadership teams.

A combination of high craft standards and strategic thinking, with the ability to simplify complexity and focus teams on the most important problems.

Excellent communication, storytelling, and presentation skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
