The RoleAt Etraveli Group, our engineering platforms power millions of travel experiences worldwide. As Senior Development Manager, reporting to the Director of Software Development, you will lead several engineering teams across multiple locations, taking end-to-end ownership of people, delivery, and technical operations.
You will mentor leaders, align technical execution with commercial goals, resolve cross-team dependencies, and champion practical AI adoption to boost team productivity.
What You’ll Do- Lead Leaders & Build Teams: Coach Team Leads and engineers, foster high accountability, and manage performance, hiring, and resource planning.
- Drive Delivery & Operations:Take accountability for delivery commitments, operational excellence and continuous improvement, ensuring teams deliver measurable business value.
- Connect Tech to Business Impact: Establish meaningful engineering KPIs, balance new feature development with technical health, and prioritize investments based on business ROI.
- Drive AI Adoption: Lead the adoption of AI-assisted engineering workflows, establish measurable productivity improvements and help teams continuously improve how they develop and deliver software.
- Architectural Oversight: Act as a technical sounding board on architecture, APIs, scalability, and technical debt without needing to review individual PRs.
Requirements- Leadership Experience: Proven track record managing multiple software development teams and coaching team leads (e.g., as Engineering Manager, Development Manager, or Head of Engineering).
- Technical Depth: Background in Computer Science (degree or equivalent experience) with a solid grasp of modern architecture, APIs, CI/CD, and distributed platforms.
- Business Acumen: Ability to translate business goals into technical roadmaps, allocate resources effectively, and take initiatives from strategy to production.
- Delivery & Execution: Proven ability to drive predictable software delivery across multiple teams, manage dependencies, remove obstacles, and ensure high-quality outcomes aligned with business priorities.
- Pragmatic AI Mindset: Active curiosity in applying AI-assisted development tools to enhance team workflows.
- People & Decision-Making: Balanced leadership style that blends empathy with high accountability and decisive judgment under pressure.
- Languages: Fluent in both Swedish and English (spoken and written).
- Bonus: Experience in travel tech, e-commerce, or high-transaction platforms.
