Position Overview
TN HomeBuyers is seeking a Chief Operating Officer to translate company vision into disciplined execution across the business.
The COO reports directly to the CEO and is responsible for day-to-day operating execution across the organization. This role works through department leaders and managers to ensure priorities are clear, scorecards are managed, performance gaps are addressed, and the company finishes what it commits to doing.
This is not a staff, facilitator, or chief-of-staff role. The right person is a hands-on operating leader who can turn strategy into priorities, develop managers, make decisions, improve systems, and hold leaders accountable to measurable results.
The COO will work closely with the CEO, CFO, and Owner while maintaining clear operating authority within the company’s approved plan. This role will have meaningful influence across acquisitions, lead intake, marketing, construction, dispositions, transaction operations, and other business functions that support company performance.
Success in this role requires strong business judgment, sales and operational accountability, financial awareness, manager development, and the ability to lead execution in a lean, performance-driven organization.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Translate company strategy into clear operating priorities, owners, measures, deadlines, and execution plans
- Lead the company’s operating cadence, including scorecards, leadership meetings, accountability rhythms, and follow-through on commitments
- Oversee operating execution across acquisitions, lead intake, marketing, construction, dispositions, transactions, and supporting business functions
- Develop department leaders and managers so they can own their functions, lead their teams, and deliver measurable results
- Monitor departmental performance, identify gaps, and drive corrective action when results fall below expectations
- Partner with the CEO, CFO, and Owner on operating performance, business tradeoffs, staffing plans, financial priorities, and growth decisions
- Ensure sales, lead generation, and revenue-producing functions are measured and managed against clear funnel economics and performance standards
- Support P&L accountability by helping leaders understand the operational decisions that impact revenue, margin, cash flow, and profitability
- Build durable systems, processes, reporting structures, and cross-functional workflows that improve execution and reduce dependency on individual people
- Strengthen organizational resilience through process ownership, documentation, cross-training, and backup capability
- Make difficult personnel, process, and investment recommendations when the evidence supports change
- Reinforce company standards, core values, policies, and accountability expectations across the organization
Ideal candidate experience and skill-sets:
- Experience leading operations, departments, business units, or teams with measurable accountability for performance outcomes
- Meaningful exposure to P&L responsibility, operating budgets, revenue targets, margin management, or business financials
- Experience leading sales-driven, commissioned, high-ticket, or performance-based teams directly or through department managers
- Strong ability to turn company strategy into clear priorities, scorecards, operating rhythms, and execution plans
- Proven ability to develop managers, hold leaders accountable, and address performance gaps directly
- Strong understanding of how sales, marketing, operations, finance, and people systems work together to drive company performance
- Ability to use operating and financial data to make decisions, identify risks, and improve business results
- Comfortable working with an involved CEO, Owner, or founder in a lean, entrepreneurial environment
- Strong decision-making ability with the judgment to balance speed, quality, people, and financial impact
- Experience building scalable systems, improving processes, and creating accountability across multiple functions
- High ownership, strong follow-through, and ability to operate with minimal oversight
- Experience in real estate, construction, home services, direct-response marketing, inventory management, or project-based operations is beneficial but not required
