MES Analyst
Join a key digital transformation initiative within our semiconductor manufacturing operation, leading the migration of our legacy Manufacturing Execution System (MES) to Siemens Opcenter Execution. Acting as the bridge between manufacturing, engineering, IT and business stakeholders, you will gather and translate requirements into scalable MES solutions, ensuring existing functionality is maintained while driving greater standardisation and efficiency through Opcenter. Beyond the migration project, you will become a core member of the local MES team, helping to support, enhance and continuously improve manufacturing systems that are critical to production operations.
What You’ll Be Doing
• Lead requirements gathering, process mapping, and business analysis activities with manufacturing, engineering, quality, and IT stakeholders.
• Analyse existing MES workflows, integrations, data flows, and business processes, translating them into Siemens Opcenter configurations and solutions.
• Drive the migration from a legacy MES environment to Siemens Opcenter Execution, ensuring minimal disruption to production and retention of critical functionality.
• Configure and maintain MES objects, workflows, master data, and related system components within Opcenter.
• Coordinate implementation activities across multiple departments, working closely with developers, system integrators, and end users.
• Support MES integrations with equipment, ERP systems, shop-floor applications, databases, APIs, and other enterprise platforms.
• Facilitate testing, validation, defect resolution, and release activities to ensure successful deployments and upgrades.
• Develop and enhance manufacturing reports, dashboards, and KPIs to improve decision-making and operational performance.
• Support troubleshooting and root-cause investigations across MES, equipment interfaces, and manufacturing data systems.
• Contribute to the long-term MES roadmap, governance processes, and continuous improvement initiatives.
What You’ll Bring
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Experience working in a semiconductor, photonics, electronics, or advanced manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on experience with Siemens Opcenter Execution (Camstar) or a comparable Manufacturing Execution System (MES).
• Proven experience gathering and documenting requirements, analysing business processes, and translating requirements into technical MES solutions.
• Experience supporting MES implementation, migration, integration, or upgrade projects within a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing concepts such as WIP tracking, lot genealogy, traceability, rework processing, and production workflows.
• Familiarity with manufacturing equipment integration technologies such as SECS/GEM, APIs, and database-driven interfaces.
• Experience with SQL, Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server, and reporting or analytics tools such as Power BI or JMP.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
• Fluent German and English language skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
Nice to Have
• Previous experience with large-scale MES migration or digital transformation programmes.
• Experience integrating MES platforms with ERP and other enterprise systems.
• Exposure to Mendix application development or configuration.
• Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies and tools such as Azure DevOps.
• Experience within highly regulated, high-volume manufacturing environments.
