At the core of the role
We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to design, automate, and streamline our hybrid cloud and container platforms. In this role, you will bridge the gap between development and operations, taking ownership of scalable Azure cloud infrastructures, robust RHEL/OpenShift on-premise environments, and cutting-edge GitOps pipelines. You will drive release automation, advocate for security hardening, and collaborate closely with cross-functional software engineering teams to ensure resilient, high-performing IT solutions from continuous integration all the way through to deployment.
Core skills you’ll bring
- 5+ years of experience designing infrastructure and application architectures for large-scale projects, alongside deep expertise in hardening both Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Proven track record of architecting Azure environments with IaC and building on-premise RHEL/OpenShift solutions.
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification.
- Hands-on proficiency with Azure platform services (VNets, VPN, SQL, AKS, Defender/Security Center, Log Analytics, Application Insights, Application Gateway).
- Solid experience with Kubernetes, Red Hat OpenShift, custom Docker image creation, Helm chart development, and GitOps workflows via Argo CD.
- Strong skills in Terraform, Bicep, Ansible, PowerShell, and Bash scripting.
- Strong understanding of networking (TCP/IP, DNS, routing) and database management (PostgreSQL, MS SQL).
- Ability to read and compile code in .NET Core, along with a baseline understanding of web server administration (IIS, Apache/Nginx) and web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript).
- Czech or Slovak language at an excellent level is essential, with at least technical English proficiency.
The impact you'll create
- Design, implement, and maintain Azure cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep), including hub-spoke network topologies and hybrid VPN connections.
- Build, configure, and manage on-premise platforms based on RHEL and Red Hat OpenShift, ensuring seamless hybrid integration with Azure.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and application deployments using Ansible, Argo CD, Helm charts, and Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines.
- Collaborate closely with developers, testers, and software engineers to translate project needs into resilient CI/CD practices and optimized source code delivery.
- Conduct code reviews and testing analysis with a strong focus on security hardening, performance, high availability, and infrastructure resilience.
- Oversee network routing, DNS, web servers (IIS, Apache/Nginx), and database configurations (PostgreSQL, MS SQL).
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues, optimize system monitoring and backup/disaster recovery strategies, and prepare detailed operational documentation for handover to internal teams.
- Actively participate in architecture planning and project decision-making processes to elevate release engineering standards.
