Location

Springfield, MA – This is an on-site opportunity offering close collaboration with customers, estimators, vendors, and project teams throughout the design and preconstruction process.

Note

Candidates must have 6+ years of mechanical design experience within a mechanical contracting environment, along with AutoCAD MEP and/or Revit experience. Strong customer-facing skills and willingness to participate in project estimating and vendor/subcontractor quote coordination are essential.

Job Description

- Lead mechanical design efforts for commercial building and mechanical contracting projects.

- Work directly with customers to understand project requirements and develop solutions aligned with their goals.

- Create and coordinate mechanical designs using AutoCAD MEP and Revit.

- Develop HVAC, piping, plumbing, and related mechanical system designs as applicable.

- Review drawings, specifications, layouts, and project requirements for accuracy and constructability.

- Collaborate with project management, estimating, engineering, and field teams throughout project development.

- Participate in estimating and preconstruction activities for assigned projects.

- Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors to obtain pricing and quotations for project bids.

- Identify value engineering opportunities and practical design solutions that improve project outcomes.

- Provide design leadership while helping ensure projects meet customer expectations, budgets, and schedules.

Qualifications

- 6+ years of mechanical design experience within a mechanical contracting company.

- Strong AutoCAD MEP and/or Revit experience.

- Experience working directly with customers on mechanical building design.

- Knowledge of commercial mechanical systems and construction practices.

- Experience supporting project estimating and preconstruction activities.

- Comfortable working with subcontractors and vendors to obtain project pricing.

- Strong communication, design coordination, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
