C++ Software Engineer - Drone Stack

You will design and integrate autonomy and vehicle-intelligence systems across hardware and software. You will deploy autonomy solutions on embedded Linux platforms, integrate sensors and aircraft systems, troubleshoot issues, conduct SIL and HIL testing, support live flight tests, and work with UAS vendors.

Responsibilities- Develop modular autonomy capabilities for defense applications

- Integrate and deploy autonomy solutions on embedded Linux and hardware platforms

- Interface with sensors and collect data

- Troubleshoot integration and software issues

- Integrate autonomy software with autopilots, datalinks, sensors, PNT, GPS, INS, and ground-control stations

- Support live flight testing on unmanned aerial vehicles

- Integrate software onto OEM UAS hardware with third-party vendors

- Conduct system setup, testing, validation, SIL, and HIL evaluations

- Implement service-oriented software and inter-process messaging systems

Requirements- 3+ years of hands-on robotic hardware, software, and integration experience

- Experience programming in C++

- Experience integrating robotics products with Pixhawk autopilots, ArduPilot, and/or PX4

- Experience with UART, RS232, RS422, RS485, SPI, QSPI, I2C, and Ethernet

- Experience with Docker, containerized deployments, and Linux operating systems

- Experience with Git, Visual Studio Code, and GitLab

- Familiarity with real-time, edge-computing, safety-critical, SIL, and HIL systems

- Willingness to travel frequently for on-site integration and demonstrations, estimated at 10–20%

- U.S. citizenship

- Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance
