About the role
We're looking for a Gas Installation Video Surveyor to join our growing team, supporting domestic heating installation projects across our social housing and residential contracts. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong technical background who enjoys being out in the field, meeting customers, and playing a key role in delivering successful installations.
As a Gas Installation Video Surveyor, you'll visit customers' homes to carry out detailed pre-installation surveys using video technology and traditional surveying methods.
You'll assess existing heating systems, identify installation requirements, and produce clear, accurate specifications that enable our installation teams to complete work safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard.
Working closely with customers, engineers, and operational teams, you'll act as the technical link between survey and installation, ensuring all project requirements are captured from the outset and helping to minimise delays, variations, and repeat visits.
What you’ll be doing
You'll conduct video and on-site surveys of domestic heating systems, assessing boilers, pipework, flues, controls, and associated components to determine the scope of installation works. You'll identify any access challenges, remedial requirements, or compliance considerations and compile detailed survey reports, photographs, and installation specifications for our engineering teams.
You'll also provide technical guidance and support throughout the installation process, working with engineers to resolve any issues that arise and ensuring all work complies with current Gas Safe regulations, industry standards, and client requirements. You'll also support quality assurance activities, investigate recurring issues, and help drive continuous improvement across our installation programmes
What we’re looking for
We're keen to hear from candidates who have experience within domestic gas installations, heating surveys, or technical surveying roles and who can demonstrate a strong understanding of domestic heating systems and installation practices.
Applicants should hold:
- NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Plumbing & Heating, Heating & Ventilation, or equivalent
- Current ACS qualifications including CCN1, CENWAT, CKR1 and HTR1
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Previous experience within domestic gas installation environments
In addition, you'll have excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while managing a varied workload across multiple sites.
