Business Development Representative
aerovy · Atlanta HQ · hybrid
About AerovyAerovy is the operating layer for hardware OEMs. We take the signals coming off equipment in mobility, industrial, material handling, and construction, and normalize them into one model for assets, components, health, and events that holds across brands and model years.
With Aerovy, OEMs:
- Launch an AI ecosystem for their hardware: branded apps a manufacturer puts in front of its own customers, from the app that comes with the machine to connected services and subscription tiers
- Elevate aftermarket service: the machine reports a fault, it's diagnosed, the right technician is dispatched with the right part, and the job is closed out and reported. First-time fix rates go up; time to acknowledgement and time to response come down
- Cut warranty cost and service spend: predictive failure detection, automated triage, and AI-driven root-cause across their install base
We're a fast-paced startup building the digital infrastructure for the next generation of intelligent hardware. Founded in 2023 as a spinoff of research from Purdue University, we've grown from 5 full-time workers at the end of 2025 to 13 today, with ARR up 4x+ over the same period. We're backed by institutional VCs from Mudita Venture Partners, M25, Quorum Capital Partners, Knoll Ventures, and Purdue Ventures, and angels from Google, Tesla, Intel, Siemens +more.
The roleAs the first Business Development Representative at Aerovy, you’ll report directly to the CEO. The job has two halves. The first is outbound: working the 120-account named list to find the right person at the right OEM and get them into a qualified first meeting. The second is pipeline support: the CEO is personally carrying live enterprise deals, and you make sure none of them stall. Follow-ups go out on time, next steps get booked, HubSpot reflects reality, and conference meetings are on the calendar before we land.
Most BDR seats stop at the meeting. This one doesn’t. You stay on a deal through close. We’re looking for someone who treats a VP of Aftermarket’s calendar as a puzzle to solve, writes a clean email, and would rather own a number than a task list.
Responsibilities- Run outbound against the named-account list: research the account, identify the aftermarket and digital stakeholders, build sequences in Apollo, and book qualified meetings.
- Qualify to our standard before handoff: a champion, a next meeting on the calendar, and a number the buyer put on the problem.
- Own follow-through on the CEO’s direct pipeline: send recaps, chase open items, schedule the next step, and keep every deal moving between meetings.
- Keep HubSpot current: contacts, deal stages, Sourced by and Qualified properties, and the notes a teammate would need to pick up the deal cold.
- Pre-book meetings for trade shows and conferences, build the onsite schedule, and run post-show follow-up within the week.
- Put sales automation and AI to work on account research, list building, and personalization so one person can cover a list this size.
- Prep the CEO for calls: who’s in the room, what they said last time, what we need out of the meeting.
- Feed what you hear in outbound back to marketing: which messages land, which objections repeat, which titles reply.
- Write down what works so the next BDR starts from your process.
Job Requirements
- 1 to 3 years in a BDR, SDR, or sales support role selling B2B software, or a track record of persistent, organized outreach from another field.
- Written communication that’s clear and short; you can draft a cold email a VP would actually read.
- Comfort on the phone and in person, including walking a trade show floor and opening conversations cold.
- Organized to a fault: you keep a CRM clean without being asked and nothing falls through between meetings.
- Fluency with HubSpot, Apollo, or similar prospecting and CRM tools, and curiosity about using AI to do more of the work.
- Coachable and low ego: you’ll be running someone else’s playbook before you improve it.
- Based in Atlanta or able to be in the office regularly, with travel to conferences and customer sites.
Nice to Haves
- Exposure to manufacturing, industrial equipment, fleet, or aftermarket and field service
- You’ve supported an enterprise deal from first meeting through signature and can describe what you did to keep it moving
- Experience planning or working trade shows
Additional Notes
- This role is based in Atlanta, with travel to conferences and customer sites.
